I can never get spell damage builds work :C Are there any items at all that increase spell damage outside of stacking shadow orbs and gloves of spell mastery?

The best spell builds use "After you cast a spell your next attack does X" items, not just spell damage. You make sure you have enough regen (or don't max all the abilities) and cast and kite.

the lightning shield icon item also increases spell damage other than that idk

I usually go a tank character who has good intel per level for spell dmg builds (like lich king or Vader) then pick as much dmg abilities as I can (primarily frost nova, blizzard, rain of fire, etc along those lines) For items Shadow orb, the shield of the deathlord item (the one that gives 20% spell dmg),if you have frost spells get the one that gives 20% i think for frost spell dmg,Chain lighting item is pretty good source of dmg if you dont have better options for items, infinity gauntlet too especially if you can combo it with spell dmg (I like using the 50% extra spell dmg item when you click it to combo with it) some defensive items(Based on enemy, Spikes vs auto attackers, amulet of spell block if they got good CC, medalion or robe of the magi if i dont have good mana regen) spell mastery trait if available for more spell dmg, Moonstone for mana
