A stoic Bald Eagle defends her nest and eggs from the harassment of several ravens. The eagle was able to stand her ground and defended the attack. Amazing footage! Ravens were picking on something much stronger than them using gangster tactic, trying to lure the mom eagle away from her nest then steal her eggs, but she didn't fall for it and stood her ground.

last night I watched a youtube video of an osprey hen getting killed by a raven and then the raven immediately flew back and killed one of the chicks in the dead osprey's nest. I didn't realize ravens killed other birds. I could not sleep after watching that video.

Before my country (USA)'s population freaks out, they are native North American birds and live mainly in the northern USA and Canada, migrating south in the winter. So they are not exclusive to the USA.

They dont hibernate in winter a farmer butchers beef not far from us and feeds hundred of bald eagles and ravens it's a sight to sit and watch them.some are huge from been well fed never get tired going to watch them in the field here in Nova Scotia Canada it might not be Canada for long.

That eagle could easily tear those ravens apart if she took flight and went after them but she is smart enough not to leave her nest.

Definitely in a one on one match up but two ravens could probably dispatch the eagle if it left it's nest luckily the eagle stood it's ground without leaving the nest

Ravens can quite easily mob an adult eagle so it was better for the bald eagle to stay in the nest as that is where it is most defenceless.

I just want to say something here. People are arguing over whether the eagle is a male or a female. Now, it is really hard to tell because they actually look identical as far is coloring goes. So it's hard to tell seeing one by itself. Now, if they were both there you could tell easily because the female will be bigger than the male. However, an eagle by itself you can't really tell. But, the people who set up the camera and likely saw both eagles together and tagged both eagles say it's a female. So, it's safe to assume that this is the female of the pair.

The ravens were trying to get the mom eagle to chase one of them, then the other ravens will storm in from behind and steal her eggs, but mom eagle was smart enough to hold her ground.

It doesn't. The tags have nothing to do with these attacks; eagle nests are placed to keep out ground attackers and provide a defendable position for the parents.

The difference between an adult male and adult female is that the female is one third bigger than the male. I'm not sure where you got your information, but it was incorrect.

It's just simple documentation. The camera isn't hurting anything; they could land anywhere near the nest. A successful defense from attackers relies solely on the parent guarding the nest being smart enough to hold their ground.
