sorry for off topic - to AEF - why nothing was done for Peace at Captiva as it was obvious this eaglet had something wrong? ☹😰😥

We conducted an investigation to see if we could find evidence of man-made interference. We would need solid evidence to be able to get US Fish and Wildlife Services approval to retrieve Peace to investigate further. However, we were not able to find anything out of the normal as the evidence seems to point to a failure to thrive. We also do not want to approach the nest as we do not want to endanger Hope and the parents, but we will continue to monitor the family for any issues. This is not how we wanted the 2021 cam season to start but it makes us even more appreciative of all of the eaglets we have seen fledge and thrive. Thank you for watching and above all, thank you for you love and compassion for the eagles!

Did the second egg not hatch? I only see one infant in the nest right now on the livestream.

Hi Alexandru, yes this year there was only one viable egg produced in the nest.
