I highly suggest you pick up a whirlwind, especially as a blood angels enthusiast. Being able to deny overwatch or force a unit to fight last before a charge is INCREDIBLE for us.

Some of the most fun I've had in 40K is using the off the beaten path units/wargear. The amount of confusion this alone can cause is great. Tournament lists only really work well against other tournament lists or an in depth knowledge of the army.

Gods I remember my Whirlwind, one of those metal models that were determined to commit seppuku constandly with the missile pods crashing through the plastic rhino or just fallng off to the side. Not as bad as the Landraider Crusader, but pretty hair pullig all the same.

We had a continuing multiplayer co-op campaign going. X amount of points to start, but that was it for...a long stretch. By the end, my Whirlwind was the only functioning vehicle remaining, slowly dragging a jacked-upPredator and most of a knight behind it on sleds made from Rhino panels. There were other vehicles, but let's just say that there were some sixes rolled. Only my Wolf Lord and one of his Guard have been in my army as long. "Tizca's Ashes" has seen some stuff. And their crew has never had to buy a round.

Agreed. Ultimately, I think that everyone gets into this hobby to have fun, and some people forget that chasing tournament titles. I have only ever played for fun(~3000pts, 7th edition rules, and a half-dozen cold ciders is still a favourite way to kill an afternoon), but I like hearing that reminder at the end of each video.

The Whirlwind is a great anti-aircraft weapon platform that perform with a precision of a Space Marine at its helm. The Whirlwind has served all Space Marines Chapters with such performances that all successors will be equip by such weapon systems.

I read that, on the figure of Lorgar, they were inspired in this way: 1) the name of his native world is a province of Afghanistan which during the Soviet-Afghan war was known as the "Gates of Jihad" due to the large amount of violence present; 2) his name instead refers to one of the most famous Roman emperors, both because he was a restorer of the empire, but above all because of his great military character and deep warrior faith (sol invictus). Does that give a winning card for Khorne?
