@@terrellthegoat5919 "state f the lore" is the great misperception my friend - worry less about being "up to date", and focus more on points of interest- Luetin09 did an imperium of man part 1 that will cover the general timeline quite well- after that its just what is new canon, heresy, apocryphal or rumour.

Good choice of a great battle story! Having visited many cathedrals, monasteries and saints shrines across Europe and the UK, including the Vatican, I’ve always wondered how you fill up a whole bloody WORLD with nothing but ecclesiastical buildings and edifices. This story does a great job of not only showing why but how (not surprisingly magic mushrooms were involved) and how fiercely the religious fanatics humanity would fight to defend them in the grim darkness of the far future yadda yadda yadda. I love especially the growing role of the AdepSororitas in the lore; it’s almost as if 51% of humanity might be women. Or the women might be worth ... attention?? Shock and awe indeed. 😏

AHA! FINALLY! Now I know that Cardinal worlds are exempt from the tithe! I have been wondering that for ages. So, what about Shrine Worlds? Cemetery Worlds? I assume that like the Mechanicum, the Ecclesiarchy has some form of obligation to the Adeptus Terra?

Usually exempt as they rarely produce anything. But it will vary. Usually priests for the schola I’d imagine.

@@Baldermort Since that is an organization of the Adeptus Ministorum, yeah, you could argue that all the services that the Ministorum provides are its tithe; That it does not pay in temporal resources, but spiritual ones. Which in turn would mean that it can invest all those resources that it tithes into its galactic presence and do that duty. And it lines up with what the Emperor thought about organized religion. I do suspect that, to complicate matters, it might also run under a system like the pre-revolutionary church in France: Technically without obligation, but they gave a big gift to the crown every ten years or so, and getting credits with good rates was so much easier through the help of clergy. It was almost if they could... **lean** on people. And the Ministorum is pretty good at getting people motivated to do things like volunteering for the Guard, especially since AFAIK under the Decree Passive they can't have SDF-strength forces, and thus may be reliant on Guard presence?

My players are fond of just asking what's on the TV in the background and want not , so in my 40k roleplay the entertainment vidcasters found throughout the agriworld the inquisitorial retinue has made as their home base will often be found playing the latest Vidcast of Scholar Baldermort's Historical Recitations among other 40k lore channels I like. When asked what they see, I usually describe slow panning videcaps of historical paintings and monuments, and the occasional depiction of an animated servo-skull talking.
