@@LordGadwin Horus didn’t conquer his, to be fair he was found early on but still. Neither did Ferrus. The Twins really didn’t do much either. Mortarion was most of the way there but didn’t conquer it completely. Kurze, sure he conquered it but the planet became 10x worse once he left it. Angron gets memed on but I don’t think any of the other Primarchs would have done better on his planet. They’d have had just a rough a time as Angron.

I feel that Angron would have been a Lorgar if not for growing up a Gladiator slave. He was a sensitive empath who cherished his brothers and sisters in arms. ​​@satch5471 Actually, no. The reason he did it is because the butcher's nails meant that Angron now had a timer. The Primarchs were supposed to be eternal generals and diplomats, but the Nucerians broke him with the nails. The only reason Angron would have survived after the Emperor rescued him would be to give him something to hate, something to feed the anger the butcher's nails caused. So The Big E did just that. By not saving Angron's gladiator brothers and sisters, he caused Angron to hate him so much and be so angry that he wouldn't "expire," so to say.

It's crazy that we have this amazing universe, pack with the most detailed and intricate lore, layered characters, captivating factions, and so much more yet the best official content we get from it is Hammer and Bolter. Which looks like it was done by a first year animation student. It is the fans who are creating the content that defines it. People who do it for love and not for a dollar. In fact they pay to make the content that has grown WH40K. I personally have zero interest in the figures or the tabletop. I am here for the lore, and outside of the novels, it is the fan content that got me here and keeps me coming back.

Oenomaus had already freed Desh'ea and ruled House Thal'kyr, then after hearing about the boy named Angron, raised first by wolves and then by villagers, he decides to recruit him among his gladiators, seeing him as their hope. Angron thus grows well becoming a just adult, in a reborn city with a large army of strong warriors, successfully leading his valiant soldiers (and many others thanks to his empathic psychic power), with the title Red Angel, against the tyrants (witnessing the tragic but honorable death of his father figure in the last battle), ultimately becoming the Gladiator King, powerful ruler of all Nuceria. Some time after the planet's pacification Angron meets the Emperor, this time voluntarily embracing his place as son, Primarch and father of the XII Legion of War Wolves (World Eaters), officially making Nuceria their homeworld. Or maybe even this: all the cities of Nuceria are already free and governed by several Warrior Kings (the bloody slavery just a bad memory), who over time see the rise of the wolf Angron Thal'kyr as a sign of a worthy ruler (and future worthy Primarch)! (A soul like that of Sanguinius) 🔴

It's been stated by an imperial person that the battle sisters still had their holy light when corrupted still meaning that deep down they still had faith. That's powerful. Like Larana when she was possessed she was screaming inside her mind in horror and in the end of her story the daemon possessing her got rid of her as a host and she was on the vurge of insanity but not corrupted anymore. She and a fellow imperium member both blew up and she was happy to die as she nodded and smiled at him because she could be at peace. Maybe it's like that they are inside their minds seeing everything happen but have no control over what they are doing and can't stop. Which is very horrifying and fits right in in warhammer. Some can even resist it all together.

It would, if you squint your eyes a bit and disregard some of the less flattering implications of almost losing to jazz hands, describe Angron sans nails as a possibly amazing primarch.

There was only 20 librarians by the time Angron saved Lorgar the first time (e.g the titan leg) there was even less when Angron saved lorgar a second time (when the Librarans decided to attack lorgar to stop him from turning Angron into what he is now)

For so many years angron was a victim of character assassination. The GW writer's side line him for the loyalist primarchs. Yet out of all the primarchs angron has the most compelling, interesting, and tragic backstory. If any of the primarchs deserve better treatment then what thay where given it angron.Finally in the arks of omen story he was given justice

I have to wonder if Lorgar truly understood just what his ‘saving’ Angron actually did to him and the horrific torment it entailed that left him little more than a maddened beast. The Thing is imo the only thing Angry Ron ever wanted was true death and becoming a raging Demon made him wanting to die even more and I think Lorgar did not really care about Angron at all

Lorgar’s sycophants called him selfless, but his actions showed the exact opposite & I think Guilliman’s assertion he was always an insecure & irrational child desperate for attention who always flew off the handle at any imagined insult is the most accurate encapsulation of what Lorgar always was.

i dont think he did. i recently listened to the betrayer audiobook, and i think lorgar was just manipulating angron. he wanted a conduit for his ruin storm, and offering angron as a sacrifice to khorne seemed to have been part of that ritual. which is tragic because angron didnt understand that. even as his librarians tried to prevent lorgar from selling his soul to khorne, he defended his brother an slaughtered them.

Always a great story, Balder! Flawless acting and killer delivery. Throwing this comedic story setting/plot idea out there... The Peace of Khorne - "Khorne cares not whether friend or foe, so long as the blood flows... Goredrinker Russetrain was born to an ancient tribe of human Chaospriests responsible for constant sacrifices that power the cooling systems in Chaos Marine armor. In each of the four corners of the temple, members of his family provide god specific rites. As his name suggests, Goredrinker (who goes by Geoff when he is away from the temple compound) was dedicated to the Blood God at birth. Unfortunately, Khorne is a tough Chaos god to follow since Geoff is a pacifist. If he could only have been born into the Tzeench Cult like his cousin, Mindsnap Eruditia. (who goes by Mindy) Geoff must survive the wrath of Khorne as he attempts to learn more about the other Chaos entities while also dodging the agents of Chaos who tolerate or enjoy the current system of worship.

3rd choice i think. he wanted sanguinius first, but they were incorruptible. then he wanted rogal and his imperial fists, but rogal was too busy fortifying earth to think about blood gods. and then he had to settle for angron because no one else wanted to bathe in an ocean of blood and make a big skull pyramid. and angron didnt even join khorne willingly, he had to be offered up by lorgar as some sort of sacrifice. quite sad really. no one wants to play with the blood god

@philip8498 Angron is one of the saddest stories of the setting. Originally his Primarch ability was something of a healing role. He was able to take away the pain of those around him. Then he was broken against his will by the nails and couldn't be fixed. The Emperor basically washed his hands of Angron and just decided to get as much use out of him as possible before he dropped. Tragic really
