I started balding when I was 21. Also gaining weight. Going bald early may have been a blessing in disguise, as it forced me to start keeping in shape and focusing on aspects of health I could control.

Awesome video man. I've been looking up resources for how to cope with hair loss and depression and there is nothing out there. I have no friends who can relate and have too much shame to speak about it publicly so I just internalize all of my anxiety. Seeing you accept it with a smile on your face gives me hope

Bret Klausen Thanks Bret! While it sounds silly, a lot of guys feel this way. It’s a journey to overcome, and I thought it couldn’t get any better, but it DOES eventually. I’m glad I can help you answer some questions and show you that you’re not alone!

I’m 17 now, but this happened when I was 16. I was made fun of in class for having a receding hairline. (Never even thought of it before) I went home to look in the mirror and found I actually had a pretty bad hairline. It’s been about 8 months since then and I’m still struggling with it mentally, that is on top of my other insecurities. I keep watching videos like yours here, but I think I just need to accept I’m not gonna be able to stop people from pointing it out and just ride out the rest of high school. Anyways thanks for posting this. It helps.

Thanks for this video man, I’m 19 turning 20 in April and I have been struggling for over a year now with a receding hairline. I recently got a buzz cut in December and I thought it was definitely less noticeable then when my hair was longer. I still have trouble accepting my hair loss and it has caused me to feel the most insecure I have ever felt in my life, I wear hats all the time now and I refuse to go to university without my hat on. I just have this stigma that if a girl sees that I don’t have a “normal” hairline that they’ll automatically think I’m unattractive or they just won’t be interested in me. I just hope over time I begin to cope with it and accept what’s happening, just need to embrace who I am I guess. But thanks again for this video, it definitely helps knowing that I’m not alone.

I’m 17 also I’m barely starting to thin to where it’s semi-noticeable and I’m super scared for what’s to come but I suppose we shouldn’t worry about what’s out of our control. Just going through the depressing phase of it and I know I’ll eventually come to regret spending my last moments with hair in just sadness.

At first I was so happy that I look good being bald hahah. After two years of being bald and happy, my hairline started to recede more and more and at the time I hated it. My confidence went downhill. I got depressed. I didn’t leave the house much. I’m still kind of struggling to be honest. I wear hats most of the time when I’m outside. Thankfully I don’t hate my bald now I’m just so bored of it lol I think I’m gonna start wearing good quality hair pieces just for fun. Haha
