Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 had a Toolset which allowed players to make massive custom campaigns. If Larian Studios does this with Baldur's Gate 3, the gaming community will have a VERY hard time stepping away from this game in the next 10-20 years.

Fought to mind flayers at the crash site, and a ghoul at the dank crypt. I also ended up fighting both a mother and father owl bear in the owl bear cave. Sadly this mod only applies to Act 1 for now which is why I've spent a lot of time in it just traveling everywhere I can looking for these extra enemies.

The 2 best (and most game breaking) imo are the one that increases max party size to 16 and the one that allows you to clone any NPC in the game and turn them into a playable companion which works surprisingly well with only a few minor issues that I have encountered. Mainly use it to have Nightsong and Orin as companions which is wild

The most game-breaking has to be Basket Full of Equipment. Especially the +6 to all ability scores ring and the +6 AC ring. It's... _utterly stupid_ how hard it is to get hit now that all my characters have an average AC of 25.

The Minthara Mod is one of the few mods that is, IMO, near mandatory. It's VERY clear that Minthara was originally supposed to be recruitable with no issues because there's datamined voicelines involving her talking with the party and even at one point mentioning that Minthara is pregnant and everyone being happy for her, especially Karlach. Even her story heavily implies that she would've joined since it literally begins with you saving her and her realizing that she's done horrible things in the name of something that would've happily thrown her away.

Seems like Larian agrees... the last patch notes suggest that if you use non-lethal damage to knock her out from now on, she will also reappear in Act 2, very similar to how the mod works.

Minthara had a dialogue for opinion on Karlach, meaning it was initially possible to recruit both of them instead of Karlach leaving as soon as you started siding with the druid

I had a brilliant idea so I slaughtered the druid grove and then went to act 2 and recruited minthara to my party. Then I fast traveled back to act 1 and met with karlach for the first time. Karlach had a unique dialogue but made it pretty clear she didn't want to join my party.

Can't you just ignore the Grove and recruit Minthara in Act 2 anyways? Allowing you to have her, Karlach and Wyll. Just no Dammon and the like.

it's possible to get both in the base game by just ignoring the goblin vs. tiefling issue. Nothing special about it.

You can actually recruit Minthara while saving the Tiefling camp at the same time. You simply have to knock her out instead of killing her when you attack the goblin camp. By doing this she will show up in Moonrise Tower the same way she does in this mod

There is a huge selection of great mods. My favorites are WASD Movement, Camera Tweaks, Better Hotbar, containers, log and character panels. Better hotbar is especially good for ultrawide users.

Yeah love most of these especially WASD Movement and Native Camera. I missed so many details on my first playthrough because I was zoomed out and clicked far ahead. It's strange that WASD is not a default feature considering it essentially just controller movement

Agree. Especially since you seem to get more rewards and quests for playing a good guy. The tieflings alone give a few extra quests you can miss out on in Act 2 if you kill or let them die. Plus seeing Alfira and the other tieflings all they way into Act 3 was awesome. Made it feel like a real journey. Alfira is the only reason I haven't done a DU playthrough yet.

I'm running 30 or so mods atm. But my favorite are Astral Sprouts dye bundle, divine colors (dye mod), deity for all, fix jump/shove, polearm fix, cleric subclasses, divine soul sorcerer subclass, circle of dreams subclass among others. The modding community is amazing.

Me too and good luck! First time, even in EA, that I didn't kill them but also made Kagha have to get "the business" from Halsin vs killing her. However, I want Minthara in my playthrough. I'm still in ACT I on my next playthrough and am adding the Minthara Mod, to be able to get her in ACT II.

Along with fast XP, increasing level cap mods too. Theres one for multi-classing (dont select 12th level of your first class, go to 11 then split off and get the 12th at 20) and even one where they add in the extra levels for all classes based off of the books.

My favorite is the most simple one: tavern brawler rebalanced. It makes it work with dexterity or strength whichever is higher and only applies the TB modifier for the damage roll not the attack roll. so you can still miss and it’s still strong but not totally OP. It brings it more in line with GWM or sharpshooter and you don’t feel bad for using the feat.

Great suggestion! Even with the mod, TB is still better than in tabletop, and a borderline requirement for monk builds. Without the mod, it's as unbalanced as a unicycle with a flat tire.

Have to add the Minthara mod, I have a hard time playing evil, but I'd like to see her anyway. You missed a couple of my favorite mods, the WASD which lets you move in a more traditional fashion (why oh why haven't you added this Larian, and native camera tweaks, which lets you finally move the camera properly, I've hated not being able to look up or down.

The Minthara one (Daughter of Lolth) is pretty neat and I hope Larian will consider this. Whether I play Good or Lolth-sworn, I feel I have to just kill Minthara on the spot with no other option (SPOILERS AHEAD: in actual play, a Lolth-Sworn main character could infiltrate the Absolute cult and later help Minthara, but that is a long plan).

When I played a Lolth-Sworn (first character during Early Access) I just killed her on the spot without even talking to her. :P (I felt that a Drow serving the Absolute did not deserve to talk to me.) On my real playthrough, I made sure to talk with her first, and there are only two options: 1) help her and slay folks at the Grove (presumably because you want to infiltrate the cult of the Absolute) or 2) kill her there or later at the Grove. The mod would add a nuance where you do attack her there, as one should, but can later meet her again and [spoilers] free her from the cult mind control (and back to Lolth).

300 hours into bg3, perhaps its time to take a look at what mods have to offer. Eould be awesome if there was a mod that had all the tiefling related items in a vendor in act 3, as going with a evil run locks you out of SO DAMN MUCH good items. Atleast 2 of the best armors in th4 game (dammons heavy armo4, and the potent robe) is gone if you dont save the tieflings

One of my "must have" mods is "transmog enchanced". It allows to change looks of every visible part of equipment to another. Including mod items as wel. I was dreaming about this since my first BG3 play. :)

The only difference between the mod and the base game is that the mod let's you use lethal attacks on her. You get the same exact outcome in the base game by just knocking her out and leaving her in the goblin camp.

Great suggestions, avoided modding just for checking "vanilla content" value on 2 runs, will definitely check out these on the 3rd for "roleplay reasons" ;) Interestingly enough, for XP gain, I've found the game, being insane completionist, quite the opposite, I've basically ran all of Act3 as lvl12 party (gain the last level upon finishing Stone Lord quest, which was pretty early-mid early Act3 for me with all the exploration and quests)

Yeah, I actually found Act 3 to be a little too rewarding with XP, I was 12 before I even got to the lower city. Kept seeing huge XP gains above my head after encounters and was thinking "man, if only there were MORE levels..."

Wait, the max level is 12?! I don't really know what I expected. They're not exactly gonna code in Wish as an available spell (and lategame casters are generally broken as the nine hells), so I guess it's logical that you can't get too high level, but I just assumed that the max level was 20, like in D&D. ​@@jgsource552literally yes. There are Multiple editions and rulesets for DnD. Spells exist in some editions and not others, and some change how they behave.

@@jgsource552 Bascially there are A LOT of spells that are in the core game but not in the final release. The mod makes those spells avaible (for each class and subclass) and add a bunch of stuff. It's literally a million times more fun. Give it a try in a second playthrogh so you know what you get with the mod.

I'm definitely giving barbarian's outfit and Ciri's clothes a go! And I'm absolutely using that Minthara mod. I've never recruited her, because I'm a a weak-willed precious little flower, and can't do mean stuff in a game :D but I'm curious about the character. Thank you!

Well, if you ignore the first act and just recruit Wyll and Karlach you don't participate in the Tiefling slaughter so they don't have any reason to leave.

I havnt done a playthrough with Minthara fully yet. But someone datamined Voice lines of every companion saying a few things about minthara including karlach and pretty sure wyll.

Incorrect, the ONLY exclusive party members are Halsin and Minthara. They are the only ones that are dependent on game events. You can ignore all the events of the grove and simply move on to Act 2, thus losing out on Halsin and being allowed to recruit Minthara. This doesn't cause Wyll and Karlach to leave. They don't leave normally because you recruit Minthara, they leave because she slaughtered the tieflings and you recruit her. If you ignor that part, they have no idea what she did and don't care if you recruit her. This is in the base game.

The Basket Full of Equipment mod is really great too as it adds a ton of variants of already existing armors and outfits BUT they are very much broken and cheating but they also look amazing and there's a ton of them. Edit: corrected the name of the mod.

i would agree on some of that statement. I for one avoid using gloves because the teleportation is just a bit much. As for boots "oh no slip resistance" feather fall is nice though. I find myself in the middle. the gloves are definitely broken but at the same time the armor is just ac and boots are basically slightly better boots of mystra anyway. torwards the end of the game i feel its almost a handicap compared to some of the gear you can get

With the Minthara as Good mod, I killed her in Act 1 and she showed up dead in the throne room in Act 2. I am not sure if that part of the mod got updated by its creator since then. But what found that works is to knock her out. She still poofs away in a cloud of smoke but appears alive in Act 2.

05:50 no you don't have to. You can steal infront of Minthara, starting a fight, hitting her unconcious that counts for Halsin and you can still recrute her afterwards

Reminding myself to use the Minthara mod on my second playthrough when I do Dark Urge playthrough (gonna resist the urge when possible). My first playthrough as normal tav is taking it's time while making some progress so I'm ok with not having Minthara in it. But she must be here for my Durge playthrough. That is certain.

You can recruit Minthara and keep all the Tieflings alive while staying on the Good path without any mods. Just attack her in the goblin camp before you rescue halsin. She'll be flagged as "Temporarily hostile" (This flag is important) and use non-leathal mode to knock her out rather than kill her. You can then resolve the Goblin Vs Teifling/druids questline as normal and Minthara will be at Moonrise once you get there and you can recruit her as normal.

I was exceedingly disappointed when I learned you could only recruit Halsin or Minthara because they patched it out. I will be getting that mod for my next run.

I don't recommend dice mods right now, The set I had didn't get updated with the game and corrupted my saves. Cost me over 80 hours. You left out W.A.S.D. and Native Camera mods, Also you can just use The basket full of everything mods and get all the camp clothes/ all underwear/all dyes/ and more. That way you don't need 30 different mods. Additionally, Tav's Hair pac has more options

The Camp Clothes aren't in Basket Full of Everything. And even if it was it won't be usable as camp clothing without the Camp Clothing conversion mod for BfoE which converts ALL clothing and armor to camp clothes so they can't be used as armor.

You don't need a mod to recruit Minthara. You can be good, save the tieflings, AND recruit Minthara without any mod. Sometimes mods just rob you of experimenting and discovering other things actually in the game. It's why I only like the appearance mods.

Honestly, with exception of faster XP and good Minthara recruitment, Larian should make updates to the BG3 based on these mods.

Defo check out the bigger party size mod. If not to make the game simpler as you have way more freedom with your party spells and whatnot, do it for lore reasons as you can enjoy all the unique dialogue everyone has when out in the world. Also works in multiplayer so if you're with friends you can go crazy and have several different parties of multiple characters...

For those who find Tactician difficulty way too easy (and it is, if you truly understand your abilities, get good gear and use the environment to your advantage), get Tactician Plus. It increases the bonuses to hit/AC/spell DC/saves for all enemies, and has a second piece that allows you to increase enemy HP from Tactician's 30% to as much as 300%. I play with +100% HP and still blow through most fights. There are also 2 mods that make the AI more aggressive and more likely to focus fire on weaker characters (Immersive AI and Harder Boss AI).

if only there was a mod that could fix my current playthrough's gale relationship after they made the update. I managed to get the "weave" scene but didn't save the Tieflings from moonrise, I reloaded, saved them, completed act 2 without getting the scene again and was presented with dialoged in act 3 that "we didn't act" now even reloaded back to act 2 doesn't seem to trigger it.

What we need is a player limit extension mod so you can have more than 4 player with custome characters, nothing like a player bailing for a while so you have a free slot but no character slot To have someone else have a tav you have to save edit an entire character out, sucks if said player returns later down the playthrough

alternative to fast xp -- you can get a "double xp" mod that lets you go to level 20 via multiclassing (providing no one class goes over lvl 12)

I think that the fact that Minthara shows up later on in the game makes it even more disappointing that defeating her with non-lethal attacks is still treated as killing her. Larian could have totally made it so that she shows up in act 2 after being knocked out, perhaps with some dialogue changes. It doesn't seem like it would be that hard of a change, since no matter what, Ketharic still treats her as a failure because she didn't get the artifact. Whether or not she destroyed the grove wouldn't change that. Maybe if you recruit her, instead of questioning you about why you attacked the grove when you weren't being influenced by the Absolute, she would thank you for both sparing her and stopping her from doing so in the name of the Absolute.

I'm still in ACT I on my next playthrough and I want Minthara in it, (getting the Minthara Mod), especially now that she is, supposedly, functioning better and Larian is still getting her completely "fixed up." Your reasoning is more than sound. Have continued great gaming in BG3!
