Baldur's Gate 3 allows a maximum crew of 4, so in your case you'll each create a character and then you'll be able to fill the remaining two spots with Only Fangs and one of the others.

OMG I remember that frog encounter, I had carved a bloody path through Faerûn, an unstoppable party of killers, feeling pretty good about myself, and then this little MFer comes along and nearly wipes my entire party. I remember just sitting there going: "What the F!? Why is this stupid frog so tough?? How am I getting my asses handed to me by an effing FROG!?"

The frog is a real enemy in the game and at low levels it is very dangerous, almost impossible to hit with physical attacks at that point and with a lot of damage from its magical attacks against low level characters. From what I have read, more than one player lost their entire group against the frog. The frog vulnerability is area attacks, which is how I eliminated the frog without even realizing how dangerous was in the first place. It is possible to talk to the frog in the game with a potion or spell of talk with animals. In fact you can talk to any animal in the game using that magic.

I remember failing to befriend it by talking, spending 3 or 4 turns failing to hit it, then getting frustrated and killing it with my bard's cloud of daggers and gale's fireballs. And then it STILL downed wyll with the poison it left everywhere after it was already dead! Froggy bastard's never getting mercy from me again 😡

Astarion is definitely the favorite amongst the fandom. He’s one of the main reasons why this game became so popular upon launch. Neil Newbon (his actor) just won an award for his amazing acting as Astarion!

I see Astarion is already having his trademark effect on you two, just as he does on most couples who play this game.😅 He's....something. The fans love him so he's kind of the face of the game. But no worries, the other origin characters are just as great. And yes, the origin characters can all join you as companions when you play as customized characters. Except for the dark urge, all origin characters are companions, if you play a custom TAV. You can also choose to play as an origin character.

Yeah Astarion is pretty much the favorite character, his actor Neil Newbon just won an award for his performance. I would recommend not playing as him or any of the other characters at least for your first time playing or you will miss out on the acting. Once you play as them you lose all the voice acting and the personality. Making your own custom character is a lot better.

Astarion is like Alkibiades from ancient Greece (Known from Assassin's Creed Odyssey) drinking, philosophy and ...banging. He's completly over the top but one of the most likeable vampires ever. Larian Studios redefined characterdesign !

Nope. He is not the Narrator. She is her own very epic character (there are some hilarious Narrator outtakes videos on KZbin that I highly recommend watching). :D The origin characters all can be found and recruited to your camp, and they all have a lot of content and their own quests and stories that your custom characters can experience and help with.

@@GirlofCulture I think it would be wild. I remember playing a Far Cry DLC that was basically a April Fool's prank and now I am thinking it would be a blast to play a BG3 April Fool's DLC where each companion bugs in to try out being the Narrator during the DLC adventure. I would pay for that.

the frog is npc in the game, it will show you trasure if you kill the hag, and it is also another sign that the lady "hag" is not what she looks like, if you hit it though she is extremely powerful

I would love to see you play this game. If you like Astarion, I reccomend you to not play as him. You would miss a lot of his funny and interesting scenes. I wanted to play as him at the beginning too, but then I went for the dark urge and honestly, best choice ever!

Funny thing is it's not difficult to avoid combat with it. I was so confused at first when everyone started going on and on about how it always slaughtered them. I've talked to it several times; on one of my playthroughs it even tipped me off that the 'Sunlit Wetlands' were not as they seemed.

This game is not easy and you have to be into strategy game and build them needs time like a lot.. 150 hours is "Nothing" not even for the mainquest.. with all due respect i recommand a story-video for this.

I kinda disagree, on normal at least the game is actually a bit too easy, can't speak from casual gamer perspective but I think their biggest problem will be learning DnD concepts during act 1. How Advantage works, Spell DC etc, difference between Action and Bonus Action. The game is mostly challenging in Act 2 for the most part,Act 3 is TRIVIALLY easy once your level 10+ and worked out what spells are the best. Compared to other cRPGs it's not mechanically or strategically challenging. It leans more into experimentation which I think is the real fun. Pillars of Eternity and Pathfinder give you much more trouble and require preparation, knowledge of how to build and on the fly decision making since they are RtWP.
