Oh boy, you are in for such a wild ride, Stef. I am close to completing my 2nd playthrough, and irs amazing to see how just playing a different character can change the way the game plays out.

I think that is a new record for losing a companion 😆. Oh, and you missed an opportunity to pick up a 2nd companion prior to the fight on the helm.

Just for the record explorer is for beginners so you also have a health boost With the second option your life is lower and it will be harder. But it does offer better results and rewards if you can do it on harder levels. So it’s why I like playing this game. Oh I also want to point out there are hidden stuff that you can come across and every time you play you run into new challenges and stuff so amazing.

41:41 You can boost Dex but because the score is already 14 it is more expensive to raise it even further (raising scores costs 1 point from your pool per point gained for values of 9-13; however 14 and 15 cost 2 points each). And you can't raise it above 15 anyway which means you wouldn't even get a higher dex bonus for loosing a bonus point on another attribute. It should also be mentioned that dumping stats down is a actually a terrible idea because all stats are needed all the time outside of combat for various skill checks...and charisma in particular is very important in dialogue interactions. The person who recommended to raise wisdom to 18 is obviously unfamiliar with D&D 5e in general and BG3 in particular btw - 17 is the maximum starting score (the maximum you can buy is a score of 15; when adding the +2 bonus this means your score is 17. The +1 bonus cannot be added to the same attribute. In regular 5e 15 is also the highest possible score you can buy and no race has a modifier of more than +2 which means the maximum score is also 17). The only way you can have higher starting scores in the TTRPG is to use the optional dice rolling method in character creation and have a lucky roll, however in BG3 it is impossible. Uneven numbers are not beneficial btw because only even numbers increase the actual bonus. So no, dex 15 doesn't provide any benefit at all over dex 14 - unless you plan on raising dex later when you have the chance to pick feats or stat increases while levelling up. The predefined starting scores in BG are actually pretty good - if anything I'd have reduced wisdom to increase int to 10 to get rid of the -1 malus on int-based skills (another attribute that is super commonly used in dialogue). In the end it is always a tradeoff - you up your chances in certain situations by lowering your chances in other situations.

@@stefwoodburn Not necessary. There's an option (spore druid) there that plays like a tank rather than an animal summoner. There are also druid options where you can play through attacking magic or shapeshifter.

Dark Urge is not evil playthrough, it is the original BG3 storyline they changed to be optional for various reasons. The other LPs have almost nothing to do with the BG series, and are more of a make your own adventures

Wow i never knew there was a fringe fest outside of Edinburgh!! Btw, Edinburgh is pronounced eh-din-buh-ruh! I notice that americans usually say ee-din-bo-ro.

Yes! And if we're really only familiar with it visually, we say "eh-din-BERG" =D Fringe festival folks who've been there usually do a decent job of pronouncing it correctly. Edinburgh is of course the big festival, but there's ones all over over, including Adelaide, Hollywood, and many across multiple continents!

So you perform in plays .How nice. My performance in the Mouse that Roared in my HS Senior play was my only acting claim to fame sadly. Science was my specialty. Laboratory science .Microbiology. Them bugs sad to say. I am sorry you got laid off. I just retired. I am 67 years old and I stayed there longer than I should have.I just don't have the energy to work in that field any more. I hope you find another job soon. California is an expensive place to live. I hope you enjoy the game. Nothing like it has ever been made. Nothing compares to it. Not Final Fantasy Skyim Fallout Mass Effect DragonAge none of those quite reach the level this game does.But that is just my opinion.Good luck.
