I can say for a fact that killing someone and reviving them is a hilarious encounter to have. There was this priest preaching a false god in this Fae town in order to get people to do what he wanted them to and to extort them for a bunch of gold to give to these cult leaders and stuff like that. One of our members used a gumball sized piece of a homebrew item called 'Mage Powder' which is basically gunpowder on crack, and forced him to eat it in front of his 'people', saying that if he died then their god wasn't real. He ate it and exploded his head as the crowd started screaming and the rest of the party laughed. I decided to be a good sport and revive the man since he'd already paid the ultimate price of death, HOWEVER I didn't have regenerate at the time so he just revived without a head. Literally nobody was expecting me to do that and so the Fae Demi-God that fed him the mage powder used some of their latent powers and gave him a pumpkin for a head. We also pretty much convinced the townsfolk that WE were gods because we revived a dead person and then gave him a magic head. After that incident though I eventually returned before the end of the campaign and regenerated his missing head, returning him to normal. Sidenote: WHY THE FUCK IS REGENERATE A 7TH LEVEL BUT A REVIVE SPELL IS 5TH LEVEL!? Like I get that Regenerate is powerful, but so is reviving a dead person. If anything reviving someone should ALREADY fix what's wrong with them and should be at LEAST 7th level.
