If you need to move individual party members, then just hit 'G' to ungroup your party and move them individually without other party members trying to follow.

Share this guy's video so we can get more good content. Maybe it's just me, but the gaming community needs more people to talk about games from this perspective.

I've done so many campaigns over the course of having this game. I always find something new. There's always a unique experience with each character...and we all know how many characters there are. 0-0 Glad you enjoyed it, btw if you're playing on pc, pressing G will separate your party members so they don't follow you until you press G again-

In actual tabletop DnD, it's easier to save yourself if you miserably fail a dice roll. For example, even if you don't pass a persuasion check for an NPC to join your party, you can still bring other arguments that would make them rethink. In BG3 the interactions are scripted so I'm a bit more understandable toward people who savescum their rolls. Thankfully the game is rather forgiving and you can save yourself from bad dice rolls in most situations.

Yeah, my main problem with the game is exactly what it borrows from DnD. In DnD the setting is chaotic because you have a dungeon master that can respond dynamically to those outcomes, and always has in their mind the balance of the game, not to mention the fun you extract from interacting with your friends within these chaotic encounters. But when you're playing BG3 in singleplayer, trying to carefully make decisions being considerate to how you want to play your character, the dice roll mechanic can feel very stifling. And I have a shitty computer, so savescumming comes at the cost of the loading screen and model pop-in which really detracts from the feeling of the cutscenes. Besides, loading up a UI on a good portion of the dialogue takes you out of the scene a little. The problem is, say you wanted to mod the game to make the dice rolls less relevant (or even irrelevant) from the perspective of your party (at least in dialogue), that makes a lot of the features of the game designed around that system less relevant too, so you'll spend your points in more mechanically advantageous places, leading to the game losing its intended difficulty or less diversity among your party members, which also stifles the experience. Also, when the dice rolls are nearly guaranteed, you just spam space bar to skip the animation, but this can lead to accidentally skipping the following cutscenes or dialogue, leading to having to reload anyway! I think New Vegas (and The Outer Worlds) do this mechanic way better. You still have to build your character around skills tied to their interactions, but you also can feel confident in which options you choose, allowing you to better plan out what you're doing. And you're not incentivised to cheese encounters you're unprepared for by rolling on unlikely outcomes over and over.
