That is just the nature of improving the game. They can't be responsible for 3rd party content, but in the future, the modding community will be better for it. Larian is great that they warn users about these updates unlike studios like Bethesda that just drop them on you. We have known this was coming for a long time.

Bless you. I have not been able to run or play the game AT ALL. This worked. I got nervous because when I opened the game it still had a warning menu about third party mods, and normally that meant it would not WORK, and the game was all glitchy trying to press "start game". But I continued, having the mods selected...and it's working! The mods are active, the game is not running slow/glitching and not showing mods.

For Online Multiplayer. The mod manager can complain about third party mods, even if they are exactly the same and in the same order. A friend and I tinkered with this a lot recently and found a few things. Some mods break the script extender used in patch 7, but it is important to note that when it breaks it attributes the break to the FIRST third party mod in the load order, even if it was not the cause of the issue. But we did fix the problem! The problems we had were with a) overrides: for some reason the checker struggles to agree on which mods you have active. b) one particular mod: expansion (with blade singer) : the current version breaks patch 7 co-op, but not single player (hard to find) What I recommend is: 1) Update BG3 Mod Manager and pull new script extender (it is compatible with patch 7). 2) Move ALL mods to inactive, export order to game (while game is closed). 3) Start a new game with NO third party mods active, once you reach the character creation screen a friend should be able to join. 4) Go back to main menu and toggle the third party mods you want from within the native manager. If any of the loaded mods break, the manager will report that the first mod broke it, this is not the case. If you're really having trouble you can add one mod at a time, new game to character creation and have a friend join (with the same third party mods active) to check it works.

For Vortex users like me, this doesn't work. Either switch to BG3MM or wait for Vortex client to update, patch 7 changed how mod loader works so it messes up Vortex

I've gotten really into playing as a water genasi... create/destroy water (with a HUGE radius) at lvl 3 as a bonus action is kinda busted haha and I love the ears/animation. Such respect to the modders out there and people like you who are making them more well known!

Ive done all these steps and read so many comments but still cant get script extender (~all mods that depend on it) to work and it makes me sad. They’re definitely worth it dude. Just unfortunately when major updates release they break. It’s common with most modded games tbh. The good news is the big mod breaking updates are almost over once we get photo mode and Crossplay

This works, partially. After doing ALL of this, I get an error in BG3MM when trying to hit export load order, it saves then says "the active load order (modsettings.lsx) has been reset externally. As a result your mods have been disabled. One of your mods may be invalid". This happens even when trying to rollback to Patch 6 via the beta tab in steam.

Same. Any sort of mods that require a specific order are seriously tricky to deal with now, even with the mod manager plus mod. And every time I add a new third party mod every single installed mod gets disabled and the order changed yet again. It's an absolute pain in the ass and I wish we could just disable the in game mod manager.

Please excuse the fact I am replying from my very old & very cringe youtube account. I got the same message and what I did was uninstall and completely delete from my computer my old script extender, mod folder and mod manager. I then went online to get the newest versions of the mod manager and script extender. I then re-imported all of my mods to mod manger, using a screenshot I took to make sure they were in the right order. I saved the order but then did not export to the game. I opened the game long enough to recalibrate the script extender then closed the game. Then I went back to mod manager and actually exported my mods to the game. I tried loading patch 7 after all of that. I no longer got the error message but got stuck on the loading screen. A friend of mine with the same issues as us did what I did, reverted to patch 6, restarted her computer and then opened her game, with mods, with no problem. I am still loading patch 6 so fingers crossed it works for me as well. Also please make sure you have the community library mod and that it is the newest version of it in your mod manager since that is most likely one of the causes of the error message.

Yes it is. But it should be noted that at this moment the latest version of bg3 mod manager may have problem in loading the mod to the game in patch 6. I suggest using the previous version of mod manager. From my personal experience, this should solve the problem

What I found easier was to delete the Patch 7 game, then right click it in Steam. Hit Properties. Then Beta and download the old Patch 6 hf9 game and just keep playing. Backpack glitch still works too. I refuse to buy into the mod devastation like I had to endure in Skyrim, having almost 1000 mods perfectly balanced after years of work wiped out in one update, every time the developers seek to appease console players. Plus the new disgustingly violent evil endings were just a turn off. And I have no use for split screen. Hopefully any new hf's wont affect my play in the future. Just my POV. Cheers

My game loads but the mods thing is glitched and theres a caution symbol by the continue button that just says not found when I hover over. In the mods tab every button says not found and wwhen I try to close the game it just shows a text box and doesnt let me do anything. I have to force close. Have you installed the new version of BG3MM? Thats fixes this issue. Make sure you install the new version and open that one, not the old one. It doesn’t install as a program so it’s easy to mistakenly open the old one, I did the same thing at first haha.

@@Save_Room That will be because you had a lot of files to verify. It’s essential to ensuring you have the vanilla game files. The download size is totally dependant on how many game files you’ve changed, moved, deleted etc installing mods. Mine was like 5-7gb if I remember correctly!

I had no mods prior to the patch 7 and when I try to continue my existing save (without mods)it gives me error saying unresolved mod issues - don't know what the issue is. I have the patch 7 and the in game mods, that's where I downloaded them

After countless updates to my mods, I'm still experiencing bugginess. Should I remove all mod-related downloads/installs, start fresh, and re-install everything? I am no longer getting the data mismatch screen, but I am having trouble exiting the game (it comes up with a place to type and a little checkmark thing). I'm tired as hell and just want to finish my previous playthrough so I can hop in with these new updates! (thank you for any ideas/help!!!)

I have tried this and another couple fixes but nothing seems to work. Whenever I attempt to load a save or start a new game with 3rd party mods enabled it kicks me back the the main menu. If I disable all 3rd party mods through bg3 mod manager everything seems to work fine, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what is happening.

New patch made BG3 unplayable. I only play with mods cause I don't have a lot of spare time to grind. I just tried to start a new game, and the closest I got was directly out of the pod before crashing so bad my computer takes me back to first time playing set-up with terms of agreements. *I am unbelievably calm and pissed at the same time I might put a hollow point into my tower.*

So I've done this twice now, after deleting and recompiling my 100+ list in BG3mm and the game runs vanilla. doesn't recognize that there is even an external mod manager. Any insights anyone?

I installed everything from scratch on a new PC i got the day before yesterday: Script extender, the UI, the mods and the new BDG3 Mod Manager - nothing works, its a big mess, and i might give back the PC i got, and continue my (very much mod limited) playing om mac patch 6, until all these issues are fixed - its a big mess! Please help!

i did everything you did in the video but still dont work, in fact it pops up more errors than before ;( idk what to do i just lost months of playing baldurs gate because of this patch ;(

sadly my save files seem to be corrupted or something since patch 7 (error 300, 302, 222) plus it detects that it was saved previously with mods that now don't exist anymore and it just doesnt like that either. i can't even play my savefiles anymore i had to restart... contacted larian but nothing yet

I did this but now my BG3MM keeps telling me that my modsettings.lsx has been reset externally and my mods still dont work :(

I think I missed something I might have to start over and reinstall the game track back. I missed the SE and deleted all those. It's conflicting.

Hey, great video, just a quick question - since BG3MM doesn't collide with the in-game manager anymore, it's fine to get mods from both the in-game manager, and, let's say, Nexus, right? Cause obviously not every mod is going to be in the in-game version

Thanks man. And yea, that’s what I’ve done. I’ve got mods installed from both and all is working well so far. Of course bear in mind that there will be some mods that just simply aren’t working yet as they need updating. But I’ve been running race and subclass mods from nexus with no issues!
