I mean, there's this or she becomes this because you tried to not to be an asshat the first time. The game does pretty well at testing your resolve either way, which does make a better story imo.

I guess this is one way to save her from coming to your camp and being murdered by the Urge. Most people just knock her out and kill the dragon-lady replacement character
