Baldur's Gate 3 - The Commandos (All Fighter Party Build)

Hi all! Today we're starting a new series. The Dungeons Dudes have been working on a series of videos in which they make full parties only using a single class. I decided to put my own twist on this concept by recreating the idea in BG3.
In this video, we're tackling a party consisting of only Fighters, which really allowed me to showcase how different each fighter can be. Also this party is completely broken.

Slight error in this video. With the Duelist's Perogative, you can not use the extra bonus attack with a shield. You can still use the Challenge to a Duel festure, which is what we really want, but if you want to be more offensive, you'll need to unequip the shield. Apologies for the mistake, and thanks to those of you who pointed it out!

One of my 4 player co-op saves became "you know what, druids don't need gear to be good. Let's 4 stack druid." 2 land, 2 moon. Druids being a catch all class we're not struggling for roles at all. Frontliners in wildshape and backliners dumping spells and staff given cantrips (ray of frost and firebolt). Druid is my favourite full caster for fun factor. It's just the right balance of silly and powerful. Cleric is my favourite power gamer class but druid is what ever class should strive to be; versitile, enjoyable combat loop, and always brings something to the table.

Nice video! I think an all Paladin team would be fun, one for each oath. Having differing oaths could be fun from a roleplaying perspective, and the combat abilities differ enough for a unique party.

I like this a lot! It’s really nice, and I like how each of them is completely different while still being a Fighter. Personally, I’d like to see Warlock or Bard next, but I’m sure it’ll be good whatever you do. Keep up the great work Hobo!

WIZARDS! I’d love to see what we could do with an all-wizard squad. Wizards can be built into the best tanks, the best controllers, nearly the best damage. Plenty of good subclasses for variety.

@isseihyoudou4872 Abjuration wizards absolutely. Take a Gith or Shield Dwarf and you can wear medium armor. Take a human or half-elf and get light armor and a shield. By the time you goto to the mountain pass (or even before) AC 13 light armor and a shield and a 16 Dex would give you an ac of 18. Damn good for a Wizard that is probably lvl 5 or 6. Your arcane ward can absorb up to twice your wizard level in damage. If you want to sell out to it, start with 2 levels of Warlock to take Armor of Shadows. You can build your Ward levels free then. Also give you a nice cantrip in Eldritch Blast and agonizing blast. Also you can take Armor of Agathys and up cast that. You can have a big pool of temp HP, Arcane Ward, and a fairly high AC. You actually want to provide attacks against you so they are hurt by Armor of Agathys and eventually Fire shield and armor or items that do damage on hit. (Fleshmelter cloak, the Helmet of Smiting) Depending upon the race you can even choose better weapons. I used Phalar Aluve on my Abjuration Wizard. He couldn't be hurt and as he ran by enemies and they swung at him (you don't want too high am AC) they would kill themselves. By ACT 2 there is enough gear that anytime you are hit they could reasonably take 30 or 40 hp. Be frozen or reverberate down. (Stack frost gear and use cold fire shield and they will freeze themselves. Make them wet and they could double it)

Love the hilarious trail out of "hope that was recording". Solid builds...really looking forward to seeing the rest of the series (and I've enjoyed those Dungeon Dudes vids as well). A fun note about your EK build here is it's probably the best martial to give Haste to in Honour Mode because where a Battle Master would normally get 3 attacks and one extra with Haste, the EK could do 3 attacks and use Haste to hit with a cantrip then Bonus Action attack again.

monk-bladesinging lizardfolk wizard (5e), with haste it averages 30~ damage in melee if you don't miss, by level 9. ((1d6 piercing > 1d6 piercing) + 4 dex) + ((1d6 piercing > 1d6 piercing) + 4 dex) + (1d6 piercing + 4 dex) + (1d6 piercing + 4 dex) Bladesinging gets extra attack, monk lets you scale unarmed attacks with dexterity. Monks get unarmed attack as a bonus action. Lizardfolk use 1d6 piercing as an unarmed attack (bite) instead of a monks 1d4 bludgeoning. Feats are savage attacker and piercer which allows for asi from 17 -> 18 dex and advantage on two damage rolls per turn. With blade song active, its 20 ac and 24 with shield reaction. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP.

The EK I would go with a Str build so you can use more weapons than just phalar alur, not that it is a bad longsword, such as the charged bound hammer, which for an EK functions as a +2 hammer with and extra d6 lightning damage. Your archer could use phalar aluve and still have the shield or your tank.

Ok...last one. A folklore legends team. Hercules/Heracles (Main beat stick/tank), Zorro (As in the rapier duelist as off fighter/dex tank) Robin Hood (Ranged damage) and Merlin (Wizard role). Sadly Robin Hood and Merlin both come from British folklore and I wanted to make it global folklore...so any wizard types from around the world would be welcome...I could only think of Jafar lol, and he's not really folklore and he's evil. I suppose you could do a British folklore group and add King Arthur and William Wallace (yes I know he's real, but some of his accomplishments were heavily romanticized) to the mix...that would be cool also.

Having a lot of AC is not the way to tank, you'll just stand there being ignored. Goading attack is good, but it's single target and on a limited resource, 4 enemy-turns per battle. I wish there was a goading roar for a fighter or a barbarian.

The Ketheric armour has some disadvantages I don't like, and the Helldusk Armour is obtained by beating a boss that basically marks the end of the game, not really great for a build.
