You can actually save the brothers but the game just forgets about them if you do

We should have been able to see the brothers cursed at Sutton’s farm in Act 3 instead of just dead. That was boring considering the Hag was involved.

Mayrina is awesome in ACT 3. Give her a chance. She's saying stuff she doesn't truly mean because she's grieving Mayrina in ACT 3 says she is starting to think Tav is her guardian angel If you tell Mayrina Ethel killed her brothers Mayrina is fully on your side Mayrina genuinely believes Ethel will give her child a better life. A life where her child isn't raised in POVERTY and her child gets to learn magic Speak with dead on Ethel and you can persuade Mayrina Ethel would have eaten her child and Mayrina is shocked and upset by that. Because believe it or not Mayrina's child IS her number 1 priority. I used to think it was her husband but it's actually not. As soon as Mayrina gets told Ethel would have eaten her baby she immediately REGRETS ever making the deal because like she would rather her husband stay dead than her baby be eaten. She believed without Ethel she would raise her child in an impoverished and bad life and that she would make a bad mum ( Ethel kept telling her that ) You think my baby ever left my mind? Not even at my lowest.

@@0744401A hag that claims victimhood and who has dozens of victims in the basement. She was a *very* successful hunter because she knew how her prey thought and how to manipulate them into trusting her. The Gur hunter was a massive moron to not hunt her for the damage she’s done.

Mayrina is a great character! She's funny, and by the end of her arc she shows selflessness and true dedication towards her child, her husband, and anyone who had to suffer a hag in their life.

She's a single mother in a world without social welfare, worried she wouldn't be able to feed or clothe her baby because the worker in the family had died Ethel kept lying to her saying she wouldn't be able to look after her child and that Mayrina would be a bad mother. I told Mayrina that she can look after her baby and that she can figure something out. ( If there was an option to give her cash I would have ). I was right Mayrina was able to make money and look after her baby. But Ethel made Mayrina believe her child would starve to death and suffer if Mayrina, a poor mother with no employment raised her instead of giving her up. Mayrina thinks I can get my husband AND give my child a good life. I can have it all. Which is too good to be true but she was desperate af. As soon as she finds out her baby would have become a hag, immediate regret and this is BEFORE she finds out Connor would be a zombie and not back as himself. There is NO way that she ever would have allowed her baby to be eaten and turned into a hag just to get her husband back. She wanted both. She wanted the best of both worlds but if she had to choose she would choose her child I know this for a fact because she immediately regrets ever going to Ethel if you speak with dead Ethel tell Mayrina what Ethel would have done and this is BEFORE Mayrina knows Connor would be a zombie. So Mayrina still believes Ethel will bring back Connor as he was, but despite that Mayrina is like I never should have trusted her, because it's not worth getting her husband back if her baby can't have a good life learning magic and having all of their needs taken care of. Like if by learning magic Ethel means eating them then Mayrina is like nah ewww that's too high a price to get my husband back

@@OpheliaFantasy Great character, well written, to be sure. Point is she is culpable for what is happening to her and the deaths of her brothers. Hags aren't people, they are a force of Nature one needs to be careful about, and she endangered her family wilfully, Even took steps to avoid facing criticisms and accountability for her choices, and 2 people are dead because of her. She's like that guy who took a baby hypopotamus to be a pet in his farm, who got several of his relatives injured until he was himself killed by the animal he was hiding.

If you tell her the brothers are dead, Mayrina will root for you. I like some of the things you tried. Too bad she glitches once she leaves. I would have tried to lure her with the cat rather than push her around. I usually sneak Astarion through after killing the four mask wearers, then rest and bring my team in through the back portal. Fun content gj

My encounter with Mayrina glitched by pickpocketing her in the tea house before talking to Auntie, they go straight into combat mode and Mayrina just stayed at the tea house the whole time. After beating auntie, you can go back to tea house and complete the mission with Mayrina.

Yeah, Mayrina kinda sucks. I still save her in every play through, but she only appreciates it if you tell her that her brothers are dead.

I always use a scroll of slow fall in the room with all the gas, keeps you from taking fall damage dropping down.

I always attack Auntie Ethel in the main room of her hut and keep her from going down stairs. You do need to let Dingleberry take your eye out first though....

I find a hag story line to be very lackluster and disappointing. And it really didn't offer me any of the choices I would have made. I wish you could save her brothers.I wish you could kidnap the girl and just go kill.There are so many cool solutions that they just don't offer. Which is noteworthy for this quest line.Because on most of the rest of the game they do let you do the cool solutions and your creativity actually means a lot more.

So in other words, nothing changes, she acts exactly how she would if you followed the normal route.. you coulda talked her down here too, just chose not to and killed her. Either way the dialogue and choices are the same.. 😕
