--BALE-BOT--New enemy for Scrap Mechanic (concept)

I am a fan of the game, had an idea, thought I would covey it best way possible
It might just be better to have it so the bot is completely impervious to external damage of all kinds, But shooting a roughly 1000 spuds or launching x3 small explosive containers into the bail launcher while its open. might be a more suitable means of destruction. As well there is three destruction stages the bot breaks down into visually to indicate its health level to the player.

It would be cool if when the bale hits you, there is a percent chance that you get trapped in the hay and have to use the refining tool to break out.

This is exactly what scrap mechanic survival needs - tile/biome specific bots that add variety to the world. Also, this one seems like it'd be fun to mess with. like, a large knockback attack that doesn't deal damage? I smell shenanigans! :)

This is actually a great addition to the game. You can avoid it in early game since it doesnt chase, and its perfectly locked behind progression and successfully making a vehicle that can throw canisters. 10/10!!

Hell of a cool concept! IMO the model sort of feels not that cartoonish as the game designs of the other bots, it still rocks and looks lotta of a nice. And the idea of the bale-bot being only territorial and defensive in contrast to the other robots that are mainly aggresive, would add a fresher feeling to the enemies (the most abundant "life") in the game

Well, this definitely sounds interesting. I feel like the fact that you can only be killed by explosives can be a problem. Mainly for the fact that there is not many people that I know of(well, I only really know about four people who play scrap mechanic and they’re all KZbinrs) who have that many explosives. Not to mention being able to lob one into its mouth. I’m not saying they have to deal big damage, but the spot should be able to at least do 1 damage.

Maybe firing spuds while the hey launcher is open would deal damage. Lobbing maybe 1 explosive into its "mouth" could be an instant kill with a steam achievement or cool clothing option that follows.

As a farmer, the design is very impressive and similar to an irl baler. If I was going to improve the design though, I would change the straw pickup on the front (the corkscrew) to be a set of spinning vertical disks lined up that have long spindly teeth like an actual baler. Also some flat things that come out on the sides of the pickup as shields to help hay and straw to not spill over the sides.

That's what I was thinking, making more bots that do little to no damage, but make use of the physics. Maybe a bot that is water based and drags you into the bottom of the ocean, or a bot that picks you up and flys away, vehicle and all.

It would take me a while but... I actually might be able to make this in-game using mods (as long as you're okay with it). I've made a bunch of "bots" that actually chase after you through the use of the player magnet block. I probably won't be able to make it walk around though, it would act more like a stationary turret.

I'm not a Scrap Mechanic player...even tho I want the game so badly This should be added I watched Scrapmans survival series and the only optional boss now is the FarmBot (correct me if I'm wrong) and bc there's so many wheat fields and only HayBots This should be added to boost the variety of bots in the game :)

idk they dont exactly fulfill the same role, haybots are all up in the hay so it makes sense for them to be either covered or have some kinda stuck to their exterior... bale bots seem more like the type of bot youd use to collect and compact said hay into bales and kinda plop them out as a final product(by the logic of intended purpose)...

This concept would actually be really good for bombs, since right now rarely have a use for them, they're (imo at least) pretty tedious to get , outside of raids it's rarely worth spending a canister and and you might as well just shred farmbots with more easily replenishable spudgun turrets. I really wish they would pick up more community concepts

I think the speed of the hay should be consistent (really fast) as do directly hit targets without arcing. I had the idea the bales don't do any damage, they just send your vehicle flying with kinetic force. Maybe a small amount of damage might be ok.

Man i'd love to see that officially in game, but i think that's just too complicated/risky for axolot to do, because theoretically they can't trust people, what if they somehow file a copyright complain? What if they don't respond on time? If they're not contracted they're a risk, sadly. Of course i am in no way accusing you of that, but very few people can already ruin it for the rest. I love the idea! However the concept of it being only vulnerable to explosives may make it a bit too over powered. Perhaps you could make it vulnerable to spuds when firing in it's mouth?

I agree, it might make more sense to new players if spuds did damage. maybe even a specific reaction with the spuds pinging off the hull so they know they aren't hurting the bot. and a specific sound that happens when shooting it in the bale launcher, so players know they are causing damage.

to be fair, a bot that is impervious to spuds makes it interesting since basicly everything else is easily harmed by them, making the spudguns your all purpose tools for dealing with them at a distance, so it gives players a reason to figure out how to get rid of them by building stuff like rockets...
