Almost the whole collection looks like repurposed luxury from Goodwill. Even the music is repurposed from the 80s. Anyone that thinks this collection represents our times or it is authentic have no clue about the Antwerp Six, and especially Martin Margiela. They started such avant-garde fashion 30 years ago, when Demna Gvasalia was a child, but he is so desperately trying to repurpose it from them. Corporate fashion sucks.

it is not about who started but who made it to the mainstream. Being able to make a bridge between avant-garde and pop culture successfully is what Denma Gvasalia has done. His genius and direction has been the blueprint of other fashion brands in this generation.
