I know you guys talk about people leaving mean comments, but keep it up. I’ve learned enough between listening to you guys and talking to a couple local farms to start my own hay operation. I was very hesitant to get in to it until you guys brought some light to the business side of farming. Thank you. From my family to yours, thank you.

I was in the hay business for 14 years here in Orygun and Bartering is the only way to get ahead here. Most enterprising folks here have 2-3 jobs. Most the others smoke weed and complain about the other folks.

Some of us smoke weed as we bake hay and check on the heifer pens too. But keep projecting your opinions as you probably won’t be successful with that attitude. 🍻

This was a great episode. Iv been in the hay business most of my life here in northern Utah. The last 18 years Iv done custom hay hauling and stacking in the small bales. Due to the housing market I’m looking at having to sell my machine and do something else. My life dream has always been in ag and the hay industry and now it’s ending for me. I wish you all the luck in the world moving forward your doing great things

In regard to Sawyers question regarding creative financing. I believe Pace Morby said that sellers use creative financing out of greed and buyers out of need. I couldn’t help but chuckle to myself because I believe that most first encounter creative financing because they’re so broke there are no other options. Great episode gentlemen!

I wish I would have seen this podcast 2 years ago when I started my business full time. Growing like crazy had a great contract starting making great money and then industry standard was so low I couldn’t make it work and took me two years to realize it. And accrual accounting I would have known 6 months in. These jobs don’t pay these do. Quit being stupid and taking these jobs. Now I’m back at my college degree career making a change to starting a 25 acre farm(owned with cash) on the side with the hope of doing some interesting farming to make it make money. Plan to raise chickens, pigs, catfish, and some produce direct to consumer. Plan is an off grid farm solar power for everything but tractor on the farm.

What an overachiever! Spent 250k on business/motivational courses. I don’t get it but we need guys like him. I was a victim of personal coaching when I was in the corporate world and made me realize I didn’t want to be in the corporate world. I’m fine with one truck one farm and one herd of cattle-and you can’t convince me baling hay is a good idea-always find it cheaper than baling it myself

I enjoy your content immensely even if I am only on the periphery of any AG business. As a shrimp fisherman my issues are somewhat different than yours.( with the notable exception of govt. Regulation) my wife and I had 2 restaurants so let give you my advice on insufferable customers. There are a very small percentage that you will never satisfy as well as a very small percentage that will eat their whole meal, tell you the food was horrible, and then refuse to pay. Take the stress out of your life, send these people a refund and then flag them and don't ever deal with them again. Don't guilt yourself because some people are pure assholes. Move past them. That was my experience. Enjoy your show, best of luck to you.

Well I definitely will let you know that I have ordered multiple boxes from another company that send you frozen meat in a box. And every single box has at least one meat package that has been torn. The plastic just doesn't seem thick enough and not protected from knocking around on one another which probably breaks the plastic.
