Baling and Wrapping second crop hay! | July 2020

Some of our second crop hay is getting ready to be harvested! It's definitely not as tall as first crop was, but since the hay wasn't going to get much taller and definitely not any younger, we decided to go ahead and cut a couple of fields down. This video is a bit of us baling and wrapping one of the fields out behind the barn. We hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching!

The summer work goes on , you are organised as boys and daughter get older they are a great benefit to you , and are show promise of being farmers of future, I hope they never loose their love of country life. You should try some Gorilla Tape on the arm rests, I used it on my old truck that the seat foam was coming out and making a mess, and they're cloth seats. It holds great.

I love your videos. The thought of driving a tractor would send 99.99 percent of todays teens into apoplexy. You and your siblings are a breed apart. 😊 Reminds me of my youth. You need to change up your videos to grow your channel and make it stronger. What kind of cows do you milk and why ? Do you breed your own, do you own a bull, do you rent a bull or do you use in vitro? What does one bale of hay mean to the farm? How much does a cow eat? How many bales do you need to make it through winter ? How long do you graze? Do you supplement feeding with cake or is it not necessary in your area? Do you supplement with lick barrels? If so what kinds? Use your videos to answer questions that your viewers want to see. I'd wish you luck but I don't think your going to need it. 👍

Real nice looking hay.. can you wrap a bale and drive at the same time? I have never used a wrapper before.

Yes, technically one can drive and wrap at the same time. I do it when I have many bales to do and am pressed for time. However, when doing two things at once, there is always the heightened chance of making mistakes and breaking something. I don't like broken stuff, Ha! Keith-

I think that's Lois. Older, doesnt get around as well so she spends her down time in the yard instead of going out to the pasture.

I know you have said before and I am sure I have just missed it, but why are you wrapping the bales? is it just to keep it dry so you can store them outside?

We bale our hay somewhat wet instead of leaving it out to dry like you would when baling small square bales. The wrapping around the bale helps keep the moisture in the bale and the oxygen and rain out
