I also use an NH648, without electronic monitor nor net wrap, good deal because I bought it off my cousin. I would like to have net but similar used balers with it were up to double the cost of what I paid for mine. Used for silage stretch-wrapped bales or all dry bales stored under cover.

Great video you have it down to a fine art with all the right gear for the job....if you ever decide to update that mower conditioner give me an option on purchasing it off you please.Was interesting your comment on that rake and the job it does on the corners..thanks for the honesty

Nice video, I'm a new Holland fan myself still bale with a 850 new Holland it's 43 years old this year. Only thing I don't like is net wrap that stuff is a pain!!! I don't ever plan on having a net wrap baler.

Nice video and I like baling hay and studying to get my cal class a and save some money and plan on buying some land and equipment and make hay and drive truck locally and I love making hay and was looking to buy 100 to 240 acres of hay is that to small for a small hay farm business. And I love new holland hay equipment and I am a big John Deere fan too

great informative video.. How come you need moisture in your hay.? I though hay needed to be dry before you baled Cheers

I'm an employee at Front Porch Farm, if you bale hay with 0 moisture you lose all of your alfalfa leaves. Most of the feed value of alfalfa in the leaves, you generally want round baled hay to have around 14-16 percent moisture, once you get above about 20-22 percent things start getting hot inside the bale.

I smiled when I saw that newholland but frowned when I saw that john deer, you should have a t5060 or t6020 haha. I'm really intrested in going into farming but I'm still young so I have time but do you think I should? My family owns a decent size newholland dealer ship so uv driven about every tractor out there. I really would like to go to a farm and bale for a while and see how it is. Great video :)

I know this is a older video. I have this baler. Your bales really look great. What PSI is your bale tensioner gauge set too. Once the bale get under pressure? I run mine about 2,000

16% would be dry hay. Silage would be 50-60% moisture.

It was a good baler. We lost it to a baler fire in 2012. We are now running a BR450.

Hay is a lot differnent...now...than it was in 1958.....It was hot.and sweaty work. Just sayin'
