In my region in southern Spain there are two little towns that are notorious for their hatred towards each other. Once, I heard of a fire that was declared on one of these towns, on some factory, but that it was already under control, though the factory was lost... and there was a guy that was from the other town, and when he heard of that, he straight up said, with no hesitation: "Oh, that's a shame... why its never the whole town?" Two towns that are like 2 or 3 km appart, around 2k people each. Back in my grandad days (he was from there) apparently the teenage boys arranged whole battles throwing rocks at each other in some plainfield that is half way between.
