One of the best things I've bought are treble hook covers for all my gear. If any hook in your gear is going to get you it will be the treble hook. I use a similar rig over in the north east but instead of a treble hook I just use a single stinger hook
@Seaswirl1850Project9 ай бұрын
Can you do a follow up video showing the rap on the single hook? I want to make sure I have it right. I fish out of Morro and San Luis as well. Thanks Cap!

Thanks for the tutorial on ball bouncing bro. I noticed you utilize the dodgers more frequently than flashers. Do you prefer the action of the dodgers over flashers with the rigs that you use?
@fv_hightide2 жыл бұрын
Thanks bro You need a dodger when it comes to running a hoochie it gives it the right action , without the dodger the hoochie wouldn’t move

Hi - Great video. Question on the troll - so you indicated 1.8 - 2 MPH - are you basically dragging the ball on the sand? How far back is the line typically and how deep are you targeting for the Halibut? Thanks
@fv_hightide2 жыл бұрын
Your not dragging the ball , it’s more of a bounce of the ball hitting the bottom, I use a 3 lb ball for the weight and it goes back a good distance before it even hits the bottom , I fish depths from 40 all the way up to 150
@celsov43212 жыл бұрын
@@fv_hightide Right on! Thank you for the great advice. Do you ever do a group fishing trip where multiple boats go out? I have a 17' little center console with a 50HP outboard and small kicker. I'm closer to Channel Island harbor.

@@celsov4321 yes I do , but I go out of port San Luis or Morro bay , pretty far from Channel Islands area

Great video! Can you give a lil more information? Like what size weight? For what depths? To get the right bounce at 1.8 to 2 mph?

Why the weight is so heavy? Why 3lb?
@rolandhicks18747 ай бұрын
The deeper with the water the heavier the weight you need to make sure it stays on the bottom
