Put the heating pad underneath the tank, it should be, heating pad- tank glass-substrate. Helps prevent burning the snake 😌
@johnwashington42753 жыл бұрын
That habitat is gorgeous and it seems really simple! Great job... but there's so many chemicals involved! I'm pretty sure both the foam and the paint give off fumes for at least a week. Do your snakes have healthy coloring, disposition, and feeding activity after a couple of months in these surroundings? I've always only used stuff I've pulled out of nature (and cleaned/examined) in my BP's habitat because I've heard they can be sensitive to many artificial (and natural) things. Maybe I'm being overly concerned?

I am curious about controlling humidity with the live plants needing to be watered. Also cleaning, do you use springtails and isopods? Did you use anything for drainage when you water the live plants?
@reptiliangarden4 жыл бұрын
I usually spray the enclosures down every night, so that’s when I would water the plants. I forgot to order the clean up crew, so for now I’m just spot cleaning. I am not sure how long the plants will last with my snake, so it’s a trial to see if chaos will destroy them. So I didn’t bother with a drainage layer.

What size enclosure from Zen Habitats is this? I’ve been looking recently, I’m planning on getting it a baby and housing it in a 20 gallon until it outgrows it (oh, and what’s your opinion on that by the way? I’ve heard lots of conflicting feedback), so I was just curious about it, as well as whether or not you plan on upgrading ever (not that I think you need to, beautiful enclosure I’m just wondering since Chaos is a juvenile, or sub adult? I’m guessing based off of my zero experience owning snakes lol, sorry), and if so, what do you plan on switching to? Or do you think this is good for a full grown adult as well? Sorry this is so long lol, but I’d appreciate any feedback, you’re someone I’ve been watching awhile and who’s opinion and reptile care I really respect and admire. Thanks
