Hey do any of your snakes escape zen habitats? My boa (she isn't 100% full grown) escapes my 4x2x4 EVERYDAY we first thought it was the wire plug so we closed that off yet she still escaped so we locked the doors. Fixed right? Nope, it turns out the doors bowed away from each other and left a gap for her to nose her way in between. I contacted the company and they said that it happens and they have a solution to fix it, but I would have to wait months to get it I live in a very small town on an island in Alaska we don't even have any fast food restaurants here we are very isolated no Walmart, home depot, etc. The closest town is a 4 hour ferry boat ride, 6 if I take my own. I loved their habitats for my other critters and was going to make my whole collection have a Zen habitat but after dealing with this I am defiantly reconsidering just going with Custom Cages.

Do you do heat lamp or just the under the tank with these guys?
@koiffeedraws2431 Жыл бұрын
Hi! So sorry to ask here, but I'm preparing my terrarium for my first ball python and I ordered the exact same heat mat you're using; I was wondering, is one of these enough for a 150cmx50cm enclosure, or should I use two heat mats (or a heat mat and another heat source from above?). I've tried googling but it's so specific I'm not exactly finding the answer I'm looking for. Thank you sm in advance! Your videos have helped me do the research so much over the last few months, I get so excited when you upload something new
@reptiliangarden Жыл бұрын
So long as the heat pad is big enough on one side of the enclosure to support your animals entire body, you should be fine! It doesn’t have to be an exact measurement
@koiffeedraws2431 Жыл бұрын
@@reptiliangarden Oh, thank you so much! And are you fine through the winter using only the heat mat? Thank you so much for the reply, it helped a lot 🖤 I had been so worried about the size 😅

I’ve been interested in getting one of these enclosures but I have question. How does the temperature and humidity hold up in these? What are you running for heat?
@reptiliangarden Жыл бұрын
Fantastic! The pvc enclosures can hold up to 100% humidity and they allow the use of heat pads. They also come with a humidity shield to lock in moisture!
@kalebbreeden7482 Жыл бұрын
So do you only use a heat pad under the hot hide? I’m sorry I’m new to owning a ball Python and want to switch over to bio active.

Hello! I have the same enclosure for my ball python and he manages to wedge his body through the acrylic doors without actually sliding them. Was wondering if you ever have that problem and have ideas on how to escape proof your zen habitat for a sneaky bp.

OMG I have to get that enclosure for my Ball Python! Which is a twin to yours but mines a girl 👧 She was born on June 12th and I’ve had her since September 12th. The breeder said “Do not put branches/wood in her enclosure!” But Adam from Wickens said I should and she is on her branches every single night! Does your Lucy have Spider in him? Mine does and unfortunately she has the wobble 😢😢😢 I thought since there are so many other genes; GHI, Mojave, Lesser, Spider that the wobble wouldn’t show up. But when she eats, she tips over backwards, completely! It takes her awhile to right herself. If I try and help flip her over, she spits out her food and won’t eat till the following week! Do you have any suggestions for me? I was going to breed her, but not now! Which sucks because she cost a fortune! But she comes first! Any help would be really appreciated! As soon as I get my stimulus check I’m going to get her that enclosure! I’m hoping it’s enough I can get one for my Bearded Dragon too! He’s in a 55 gallon long that I made into two tiers so he has a lot of space but I would totally love to have a rack of the Zen habitats! BTW... your boy is stunning!

Is the foam pretty much permanent? In other words if in the future you wanted to change the background, could you scrape it all off or would you have to order another panel from Zen Habitats?
@quinnplaysguitar4 жыл бұрын
you *can* scrape it off but if you want it to be permanent it can be. you can use the same background for the entirety of the snakes life because they don’t have claws and such to scuff up the material
