I'm all about bioactive, but if I was to get a bearded dragon and not go bioactive right away if it was a baby I would definitely use this; the lack of traction with tile is a big concern for me. Makes sense they wouldn't be active on a slippery surface

Awesome 👏 I’m definitely getting this for mine. I used reptile carpet for a while but stopped for two reasons. One it was gross to clean and two I felt my bearded dragon could injure herself if a claw got stuck while hunting. I’ve been using paper towels for a while but I don’t like the look. This looks clean and sharp while making them feel more comfortable 👏.

I use carpet for one of my beardies, as he has sensitive eyes and is prone to getting debris in them. To clean it, I first spray it with F-10, then use a toothbrush and dish soap to scrub any stubborn spots. After rinsing with hot water, I hang it to dry, and volia!

Oh man I’m sure the carpet is a nightmare to clean. I’d just throw it out every time my beardie poops 😅 I hope you like the zen mat! 💕

@@reptiliangarden I felt the same way when I first got it, but it actually isn't that bad now that use a toothbrush for scrubbing and F-10 to disinfect. Plus it dries out very quickly. I'm sure the mat will be far easier to clean, I can't wait to try it 🤘

Irie Rogue I just couldn’t deal with it after a while. But mainly because I was afraid she would injure herself. She’s an aggressive hunter when crickets are in there. I even have to remove her decorations because she jumps after them at all costs lol

Hi LOVE your channel hope you can help Please. My juvenile beardie I got him 1 week ago. All temps are followed and cage requirements. However he refuses to eat. He is pooping but not eating in 7 days he had 1 super worm. I’ve tried mealworms, discoid roaches ( I live in florida), superworms, hornworms. I’m so worried. Please help thanks

Barbora ʕ ꈍᴥꈍʔ I’m aware of the risks with sand and I have decided to use a mixture of sand and soil for that exact reason. I have to use substrate where I live, it’s illegal not to. I also believe a mix of tile and loose substrate is good because they can get enrichment (and dig) from the loose substrate but i can feed it on the tile. Another point against for “the loose substrate police” is more often than not reptiles that eat substrate have other reasons for doing that...For example improper lighting/heat or supplements. I assume your concern is impaction? Well not only can impaction be cause from the reasons I stated above, it can also be caused by anything ingested in other words insects, paper etc I suggest you do your own research about it but I have done mine and thats good enough for me. If you’re curious about people who have loose substrate from the top of my head are Tyler Rugge for example. Dbcb exotics too. Jessicas animal friends I believe too. In the end I think you have to decide yourself what you are comfortable with and what the risks vs benefits are for the animal. Thank you anyway. A lot of people don’t have the knowledge and i 100% agree that you should not use only sand for most reptiles.

(unrelated to the video) I've been thinking of getting a Brazilian Rainbow Boa for a while now, but am concerned with a couple of things: How often do you get to see them out? Obviously they are nocturnal but are they constantly buried underneath the substrate all day? And I'm assuming you should only handle them at night when they're awake? How often and for how long can you handle tamed adults?

I got a new baby albino ball python the other day not online but in person and I’m not sure what he is mixed with cause he dosent seem like a regular albino since he seems like a light shade of yellow and has like a highlighter yellow colored scales around his ghost head patterns. Could you let me know what you think it is?? Maybe albino pastel idk but it’s on my newest video I iploaded

I got my bearded dragon in the same tank with a zen mat he's been way more active in his new enclosure and the mat is so easy to clean minus the random times he tries to dig though it, I'm just not sure how to make his tank even better and decorate it

Is this heat safe bc I struggle with my leopard gecko. He’s a very much attacker when he eats he likes to climb to the top of his cave and jumps to catch a cricket so with Carpet his mouth gets stuck and I have to help him and when I went to eco earth it still worries me does anyone have ideas

Try a mix of topsoil and play sand (70%x30%). It is safe, cheap and aesthetic. However, if the cave isn't like a foot high, he won't get hurt. but carpet and ecoearth are both terrible substrates

I know this was a few months ago but currently my beardie has large chunky wood chips for substrate that she’s had for a very long time. My only issue with it insects digging and dying if they climb out of the bowl. I want to get this mat but I also want the enclosure to stay natural looking. Do u think the mat is worth it?

Get the mat if you haven’t already, woodchips is just not that good in my opinion and can possibly cut them or they can accidentally eat some of it which could cause impaction in their stomach. Plus this is so much easier to clean it blows my mind. I had carpet for my little girl and im not looking back at all.

I always appreciate the videos you upload and thank you for sharing. I do have a question: is that room hot where you have all your animals? If so, do you use something to balance the heat ( a fan). I want to get more reptiles but concerned about how hot that room will be. Any info you can share would be great

It’s always a comfortable room temperature since we have air conditioning. In the winter I need help with a space heater 💕
