I love your class. When I little girl I was fortunate enough to study under the famous Madam Maria Swoboda. She used to come over and swat us with her cane right on the leg- or even in a tummy that had gotten lazy! She said, “ballerinas NEVER let their stomachs out!” I was so young I dared to ask her- “Not even when they are sleeping?”…to which she exclaimed, “NOT EVEN IN THEIR SLEEP!!!” 😂

The way you explained this and broke it down really made sense. I totally understand now how I'm to execute this movement and practice CORRECTLY. And one day, I might even make it look really beautiful. Thank you soooooo much! I'm so excited to have stumbled upon these videos! I'm going to share them with every dancer and teacher I know!!!

@@onlineballetclass Thank You Maestro!! My heart became gold reading your answer! You can already help me with your videos!! The most I learned in ballet is what You taught me through your lessons on youtube! When I'm doing my excercises at the barre I always "hear" your voice in my head as you say: "Use the floor", etc... You have to know that this helps me so so much!!! Never stop making your videos! Stay with me :) With love from Hungary, Fanni Fazekas

"Constantly correct yourself, dancers." I was in class a few weeks ago and during adagio, there was too much correcting going on among us and the teacher says "we're in the center now. You should have done all this correcting and adjusting at the barre. We're in center now." I was like "Huh....!?" Almost 40 years of ballet and I have never heard a teacher say that. I mean, there should not be any fidgeting but the very notion that we've gotten all the kinks out (so to speak) at the barre is astounding to me.

Not exactly. If you want to be a professional and make it a career you needed to start by 14. If you are doing it as a hobby 50/50 because you have to balance your work and your practice. The older you get the stiffer and less flexible. It will be really hard for you unless you major in flexibility. So no it isn't likely but I'm sure you could do it if it was just for a hobby

Very frustrating attempting to sign up for bronze level. Website isn't working either so cannot send my message. Guess I will just have to watch KZbin only for these classes.

Dear Maestro,I need your opinion or advice concerning the arabesque.With a pupil who is not gifted physically but loves to dance, desperate to have though her arabesque is poor,what should be a teacher, advice? Having to keep hips and shoulders square,how does one go about it?How much can one,,steal,,in order to have a presentable arabesque?
@onlineballetclass5 жыл бұрын
John Economou my personal opinion is that shifting the hips to achieve higher leg or adjustments the back leg with the derré position. Is not such a crime. But a good positioned arabesque what ever level is also beautiful.

I will be turning 14 on this June only. I mean is it too late for me to start off?
@onlineballetclass6 жыл бұрын
No, not at all. May dancers start late. Go for the ballet dream How, can I help you? kzbin.info/aero/PL4021D7F5C281F8DC Maestro Greenwood
@bomoore51706 жыл бұрын
You will have to work just a little bit harder than others. If you want to be a professional and make it a career 14 is a little too late unless like I said you work a little harder. But many do start early and make it a career
