I had a huge awakening during my first pas de deux rehearsal! It felt like I had to relearn, rethink my whole way of dancing. I realized I was never really holding my core! So now I have to really work on that :)

What a great youtube channel! There's a lot of ballet channels out there for girls but its great to see a male dancer's perspective as well, especially for the guy dancers out there.

in lifts the plie for boys and girls is the most important step. for the girls to help the guy lift her to take away some weight, and for the guys to use the legs in lifting and not purely the arms, because you would die after a few lifts xD

My number one tip as a ballet dancer is communication!!! Talk and don't be afraid to offer constructive criticism in either position

What exercises do you do to be strong for ballet and partnering?
@AntonioGonzalez-en1sx7 жыл бұрын
This video just saved my life. I have a question. Everytime I partner with the girls in class it's super hard for me to put them on their legs, I can't feel it. So how can I figure out when they're on their legs without having to look at the mirror?
@skykao11977 жыл бұрын
It depends on the position that they're in. Generally speaking, the girl is on their leg/on balance when you don't feel too much weight in any particular direction. You either feel no weight or the weight's spread very evenly. That's the case for a 1st arabesque.If you're going from a retiré to a développé devant, then you need to adjust her slightly back to counter her leg weight that is now in the front. I hope that makes sense.

Hey Chun. Love your channel. First of congrats on your promotion, very well deserved !!! I just have a little questions. Next to ballet, what's your fitness routine like, do you hit the gym and for what and how often ? I would really appreciate an answer. Best wishes
@ChunnerStudio7 жыл бұрын
Marcus Remund of course! I do go to the gym as often as I can. We dance 6hours a day, and most of the time I have to do partnering work, in that case I don’t go to the gym. If I have break during the work day, I will use that hour to hit the gym one two days.

Hi.. I'm a 23 year-old-dude that just started ballet. I've been taking the basics for one and a half month now.. but now the teacher has started assembling a choreography for summer. Problem is, class is only twice a week and she wanted me to do at least one partnering move (I'm the first and only male dancer in the academy so she really wanted to implement some partnering moves since they've never had a a male dancer)and it was a disaster.. I'm supposed to turn a ballerina while she is doing an arabesque on pointe, I couldn't keep her steady at all.. problem is, since all the class now is focused on assembling the choreography I really have no way to practice with the ballerina.. any advice on how can I practice that? I really want to pull it off
