Aww...thank you, Maria...you are such a beautiful young ballerina, with the sweetest soul. Bless you, and may you have a wonderful year of dancing! 🩰

At the beginning of this video, you seem a little bit nervous. But after two minutes, you are very confident as usual. So, this topic may be is not easy to make as a KZbin Video . However, you successfully created a very fine, and rarely cover video by a current ballerina on your own KZbin.💃 👏👍🤗🙏

You are so kind to show us your routine, I learned a lot and enjoyed your process, and really your artistry in makeup! I was one of the persons who asked to see your makeup for stage, so thank you very much from me! Already so love to watch you dance! I study ballet so watch as you say, how you do it, not just what you do.

I really enjoyed watching you do your make-up, Maria, and I would love to see you demonstrating some other looks for the stage. I think you did a great job of getting it to look the same on both sides of your face - you have really good brush control (something I find very difficult!) You looked absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. One day I hope to travel to St Petersburg and see you dancing live at the Mariinsky Theatre. You are a wonderful dancer.

thank you so much i have a performance this weekend and it’s not a ballet like nutcrakcer or anything but it’s more of a showcase where the senior dancers in the company (including me) choreograph our own ballet/contemporary/jazz etc pieces but there are variations in between and i’m doing queen of dryads from don quixote. i needed this vid bc i had no idea what i was doing for makeup lol

Would fake magnetic lashes work better for you? Supposedly they are easier to use than the glue on ones.
@JanetteHeffernan2 жыл бұрын
Lovely but are the fake eyelashes necessary? They look spectacular close up but they weigh the eyelids down. Eyelids are not used to having weight on them and they can close the eyes.and they are uncomfortable to wear. You have to work to keep your eyes open. It is an effort a dancer can do without. I used to be a principal in the West End of London musicals a long time ago in the 1970s. I had problems with my make up in large theatres for years until one day a make up artist from Max Factor Hollywood was in front. I did not know her but she came backstage to my dressing room and said she felt she could help me. I was only too pleased to listen as I had had so many complaints. She came next day and virtually took everything off. She explained in the old days with old-fashioned strip lighting in theatres which really did not change from Victorian times to the 1970's this heavy make up was necessary but today with focused lighting this was not. In films with intense lighting less is more. Many artists had not changed over as the ritual of putting on make is part of their preparation. Gone were the eyelashes from my Covent Garden ballet days when I was a very lowly member and all the heavy eye shadows and lines and contouring. Her recipe was a simple base, a bit of rouge, a tiny bit of amethyst eyeshadows. That night I felt naked on stage but it worked for me. She did give me the right base for my colouring and instructed me to blend well into the neck. She said she did not want a painted doll look unless one was dancing Petrushka. It worked. I felt naked but it worked. In huge London theatres anyway less means more. I took her advise and never had any problems with stage make up after that. It still was heavier than my day make up but it worked for me. In my day I never imagined the heights of technique that ballet would reach. My training at a London ballet school would be unacceptable today. Maria is truly amazing. We had the total dedication to our art but not the technique! I am not sure ballet can go any higher than it is at present. Good luck for the future.
