I think it's great how there is a shared love of this art and a cooperative spirit found everywhere on earth! Companies from all over choose to dance ballets that originated in other countries/continents - that is probably something many take for granted, but it didn't have to turn out that way. Under different circumstances, in the past, some countries could have chosen to make a big fuss about it, if a company in a foreign country used one of their ballets. Thankfully, nobody was that selfish and shortsighted! 🙏🩰🌎🌍🌏❤

I enjoyed The Australian Ballet's program the most. I thought it was really interesting to see the men's gym workout and how they created exercises to keep their partnering skills sharp. I also enjoyed seeing such a detailed program of the research that their health & physical therapy team is doing. I appreciate all the work they're doing to keep their dancers safe. Honestly, the whole program was amazing; I could talk about it all.

my favorites were Opéra de Paris (barre and milieu with Etoile Paul Marque) , Bolchoï (rehearsal with Kokoreva/Giselle and Sergeenkova/Odette) and Royal Ballet (Osipova/Kitri), also rehearsal of Le Parc with Laurent Hilaire/BayerisheStaatsopera

So glad to see Zenaida Yanowsky coaching both the Royal Ballet company and the school. With her background as one of the company's great dance-actresses, it's encouraging to see that the directors aren't just focusing on technique but also want to emphasise character and story, which has always been a feature of this company.

Congratulations to all the companies that exhibited; it's great to see that Ballet is a world wide Art form, and that it's heart is understood by different nationalities. I am glad for all the talented young people who are working so hard; and for the former performers who are sharing their expertise. Keeping up the level of a first class company is a huge effort that everyone who has ever seen a "bad" ballet should appreciate!

I absolutely love World Ballet Day because as ballet dancers it makes us feel so good and appreciated by not only our fellow dancers but everyone else. Non dancers will never understand the brotherhood and sisterhood that we share with ballet that bonds all of us dancers together. I'm not gonna lie, every May during our End Of Year Ballet Banquet that we have at our local country club we see all the guests and golfers there and then we come in all done up in our pretty dresses amd in my head I'm like "yes we are the ballet dancers amd we're here to slay". Anyone can jump into football, basketball, theater or even singing but not everyone can just jump into ballet.

I enjoyed all of this program. The classes are amazing to watch and the individual coaching sessions -I had no idea such attention to the detail of every move -EVERY MOVE- was part of the preparation for a performance. Two additional comments: 1) next year, can you come to Boston Ballet? and 2) ever notice how every single piano in a ballet rehearsal hall needs tuning?

Not surprised the Royal Ballet was one of the companies initiating this event, they’re just above and beyond with social media marketing… such a shame they won’t show Natalia’s performance for this year’s cinema screening though, her Kitri looks even better than ever! @@balletreign my sports-trained eye notices things like that! This was definitely the best world trip I have ever been on. Comfortable seating, as much food as I want nearby, ample room to stretch, able to turn up the volume as loud as I want. And no turbulence-related motion sickness! Here’s another chuckle for us all: the subtitles are turned on automatically on the device I’m using to reply to your response, and when the Giselle rehearsal is underway, the subtitles say “shy peasant music.” 😂 I’m just picturing the computer program trying to classify the music it’s hearing. Probably should’ve added European or even western/central European to be more specific but anyway, I thought it was hilarious!

World Ballet Day, yayyyy! Thanks for your great video about this event. 🤩 Featured in your video : I loved Misa Kuranaga's magical white swan, the DQ's rehearsal with Osipova (so much energy!), Darcey Bussel's coaching (fascinating) and Smirnova/Tissi's Giselle. I discovered J. Tissi, he looks so good! Being French, I particularly enjoyed the Paris Opera Ballet's class of course! Always fun to spot some dancers I've seen on stage. And this class is always very beautiful. We can see that the corrections and exercices are slightly different from the others, it's super interesting (and looks so hard!). And Paul Marque (principal dancer) in it... So elegant and precise! Some parts of WBD I loved too, not in this video : Boston Ballet's class and Raymonda, ABT's class (very fun!), and Berlin Staatsballet class (their teacher : amazing!). I'm looking forward to catch up with : Scala's Coppélia, and Bayern Ballet's Le Parc rehearsals and class (this company is so great, they have many wonderful dancers).

Wonderful compilation of WBD! As for what I liked best- oh, where to start! I love watching the classes best, comparing and contrasting. Wasn't;t the Paris Opera one great, all in French. I'll not mention the Royal Ballet because I must've watched every single one of their classes they've shown on the previous WBDs. And Isn't it wonderful to see all those brilliant dancers in the Far East, from HingKong (with Nela as guest, LOL!) to Beijing and Tokyo. And then there are the gems, the rehersals which are really master classes: the meticulousness, the tiny gestures which enhance the performances. I wish all those Giselles, Don Q's and Swan Lakes could be live streamed somehow so one could indulge ... Thanks again - and as always, just seeing your levelly faces and your enthusiasm has me sit back, enjoy and smile and smile and smile!
