In this video, we've decided to cast each other in some of the most iconic ballet roles ever! From sorrowful maidens like Odette in "Swan Lake" to the daring heroines such as Nikiya and Medora, we'll be voting who we think would be the best dancer in that role-Jordan, or Eden?

Another way to do this might be to have cards that say like, “want to” and “don’t want to” or something, so you can each talk about why you would or wouldn’t want to be cast as that role.

That was so fun and interesting how the answers were really based on personalities- especially from us who are yet to see your dance style !!!. I really think you should do ballet charades with two set violin where one of you hears the piece and dances and the other has to guess the piece by the choreography alone

I haven't seen you dance, but this makes pretty clear what you think of each other, and your own styles. I'm glad this was a pretty extended list of characters. I must say I always find Myrtha and the Sylphide sort of interesting characters because you tend to think of them less often, and they do have their own distinct vibes. Oh, I thought of another ballet I'd like you to maybe talk about sometime: MacMillan's Elite Syncopations. And if you would like to cast yourselves in another list of characters Part 2, that would be fun also.

Yes! What did I say: Eden as la Sylphide!! That would be a dream. Which in fact it is. Jordan as Effie to have yoiur both in the cast. ( I didnt want to suggest Madge, but it is in fact a charachracter role which has been portrayed by several very destinguished member of The Roya Danish Ballet. Even male ones)

I really really hope to see you guys dance in one of these videos at some point lol it would be so fun if you did something that involved you two dancing! also, IF you make another of these videos, some characters you missed out on could be Swanilda, Lilac Fairy, Princess Florine, Sugar Plum, Clara, Tatiana (Onegin), Esmeralda, Queen of Dryads, Cupid, Carmen, Laurencia, Raymonda, Paquita, Jeanne (FoP), Diana, and probably others I can't think of 🙃 It was so cool how you talked abt Myrtha because I've actually never really thought of her that way, but I do think you missed out of Gulnare. The first time I watched le corsaire it was with Svetlana Lukina as Medora and Nina Kaptsova as Gulnare, and the choreo WAS a but different from other versions, but in that specific version done by the Bolshoi Gulnare was also very hopeful and even playful, which Nina portrayed very well, so even though she's very serious and tragic in the first act they showed a different side of her, though I don't really know how others Theaters do it. Unfortuanately, that version did get taken down from KZbin, which makes me SO sad

An “adagio role” is a role that consists of *predominantly* slower paced choreography with an emphasis of large positions and long lines; adagio! Generally goes with a more ethereal or melancholy character such as Odette or Nikiya. Hope that helps!! 😁😁
