Heads up for Android users (April 2019).....Weatherflow wind meter will not work directly with Strelok Pro. You have go to the wind meter app, copy the data then go back to Strelok Pro to input it. Don't get caught out. Saying that there is a bluetooth version called a Weatherflow Weather meter. Apparently this works with Strelok Pro. I have not tested this though.

As you are in SA you gets lots of sunshine so you could rig up some form of solar power to top up your phone. I see you are using a windometer ( if that's the right name ) but surely you need the wind at the target, and that could be 180 deg out from where you are, as I am sure you know, so how do you get round this ?. Also I would like to say your video's are very good, as is your aim. ATB8 keep giving us more, thanks for your effort.

yes a touch more info on strelok would be great as its designed for biggerbore rifles really. for instance what do u put when it asks for twist rate? mine is 1 twist in 15.5 inches, so do i put 15.5" also what do u put for vertican clicks mine is a 1/8 moa @ 100 so i just put that as a decimal which is 0.125 is this correct. and the last 1 what do u put where it says bullet length, as i measured the pellet with a caliper to get 0.251" (177 jsb 8.44 grain) as you can tell we are not finding at as easy as you you must be very intelligent. i ask these queations as i have input all my data and it still doesnt seem to coincide with my poi (point of impact) any light on these questions either just responding or another vid would be great matt thanks for your awsome help.

I really enjoy your videos. I am shooting a benj. NP xl 1100 for now , looking to upgrade to a s510 , soon I hope. I am not as fast a learner as you. If you could spend more time on the strelock app maybe breaking it down a bit I would appreciate it. Also it doesn't have my scope, center point 3x9x40 AO with 3 mil dots. What do you suggest reticle I should substitute ?
@edgarlombera70669 жыл бұрын
Save up for the s510 in .22 its worth it! It doesn't have to be the scope brand just the reticle. In your case a generic mildot reticle I had it before too that's why but if you end up getting the AA invest in a much better scope to really see its potential

Thank you Matt. Always enjoy your videos. I‘Ve tried using the MTC app that’s recommended with the range finder. It seems to have many of the features you mentioned, but it’s not accurate at all. It’s off by 2” at 100 yards. Am I using the device/app incorrectly or is this the best you can expect? Thx
@ToreDL873 жыл бұрын
I have had issues with that using subpar products (apps) as well, one app I tried years ago, the data didnt even LOOK right and as it turns out the app didnt take into account the drop of velocity over distance, hitting several mils below, resulting in complete misses. I can recommend Strelok Pro because if you get your data right it guides those pellets in just perfectly with no issues.

@howdydoody30204b9 жыл бұрын
You promised the range cards, and I would still like to see the process by which you create them. Using Stelok is, I'm sure, great, but, as you point out, there are problems in using your smart phone for this sort of thing, including a hard to read screen in bright daylight, and I, for one, will not be using it. I hope you will still do the range card tutorial.

AirArmsHuntingSA I did but remember that the meat of the instruction was supposed to be in Part 2. I have it queued to watch again to try to see what I missed the first time around. Anyway, thanks for replying. I have enjoyed your videos immensely and consider you an artist with an airgun. I just wish that the darned things were not so expensive so that more people could afford the "good stuff".
@howdydoody30204b9 жыл бұрын
Jere Moore Okay, I see that it was only the air density part that was to be left to Part 2, but I see also why I had the feeling at the end of Part 1 that I did not know any more after viewing the video than before. I already knew where to get the data. What I had hoped to see was how to put it all together into the nice package that you produced, and, of course, that did not happen. Of course, it may have been too much to reasonably expect, so, rather than whine about what you did not do, let me just thank you for all that you have done. Cheers and good luck.
@howdydoody30204b9 жыл бұрын
Jere Moore Okay, Matt, I've decided to take an expert's advice and have purchased Strelok Pro. You must have demo'd the I-Phone version, however, because the Android version doesn't seem as nice. Nice enough, though. I still cannot see using my Note II out in hunting conditions, though, and I know from experience that I will have trouble seeing the screen in bright sunlight. How much of a problem that will be remains to be seen as I try it out. In my own case, anyway, I will probably look for a used phone of some sort that is waterproof and shock proof. Since it will not be activated, I will have to get the barometric and humidity data elsewhere. Just thinking out loud at this point.
@AirArmsHuntingSA9 жыл бұрын
I can totally understand why somebody wouldn't want to take their phone out into the field. I suppose its really up to personal preference - for me, Strelok was the way forward (after using cards for 4 years), but it may be different for different people:)

I know this is a very old video but hopefully someone could answer my questions. What is a good alternative to Strelok Pro? It is banned where I live and there does not seem to be many apps that are good for airguns. Maybe chairgun but it is no longer supported. It seems many calculators ask for your bullets drag function. What would be the best for a pellet or slug? I'm guessing G1 is fine for slugs but what about pellets?
@AirArmsHuntingSA7 ай бұрын
Element Ballistics👍🏻
@birdmanoo07 ай бұрын
@@AirArmsHuntingSA Wow thanks, I honestly didn't expect a reply from an 8 year old video. I was messing around with the Mero app and it doesn't seem as refined as EB and it doesn't do firearms. It seems Element ballistics looks good for firearms as well as air guns. Which is great for me as I do shoot both. Really nice getting current weather automatically. And looks wise the EB beats out Meto hands down. For apps EB wins hands down but Mero's computer software has some really cool features. Printable range cards and scope tapes. Calculates your best point blank range. And a bunch of other stuff. Sad that it seems to be only for airguns. I would say it is worth looking into if you haven't already done so. Thank you for the app suggestion, I'll likely try out both and see what works for me.

Great tutorial mat, just wondering you talked about the two different strelok apps one free and the other brought, what's the main differences between the two what don't u get on the free version Chears Gareth
@AirArmsHuntingSA9 жыл бұрын
garethf fox On Apple there is no free version, but on Android there are three versions: Strelok (free), Strelok+ and Strelok Pro. The free version does not allow you to change the scope magnification on reticle view, does not allow you to find the incline, is not compatible with the WeatherFlow. The full version also allows you to connect via Bluetooth to a Kestrel weather station and updates the conditions in real time which is insane. As I said, the free version works fine - But I decided (for myself at least) that it was completely worth it to spend the extra cash

@extrastuff94639 жыл бұрын
tasmedic Also a pretty important experience to have it done at least once, by going through the process you get a bit more familiar with the what a particular change to something will affect rather than letting the app brainbox do the thing and tell you want the point of impact will be. But once past that whichever works best for your situation is the right way, I've seen a person as well once who did the plastic laminated cards but with two tiny rings in the upper right and left corners and a whole stack of them. So he could flip through it like a little booklet to get the one matching best with the current conditions.
