I live in Airdrie at the other end of the rail line. Balloch is fast becoming a no go area with anti social behaviour most weekends with a constant police presence at train station. The teenage element use balloch park for drugs!! Stay away from balloch!! Helensburgh is much nicer!

I will be travelling to Glasgow and Scotland on holiday this year and after seeing your video I will certainly be visiting Balloch. Thank you very much for showing that.

Yes would visit Balloch. My Gran & Mum came from there and I spent all my Easter and Summer Holidays there when I was a Kid. Coming from a small village in Essex it was a wonderful place. Lovely Video especially as you showed where my Mum and Dad's ashes are scattered. Thank you

Oh wow - this takes me back ! in 1977 I met my 'First love' (Janie McQuade) and she came from here and I remember visiting her there and it was just so beautiful and thankfully, looks like it hasn't changed !. It really is a stunning place !

Balloch is lovely. Chip shop there is grand. But Ohh that bus journey is brutal. Not done it myself in some years. But its really drags on aee lol. Where are you from if you don't mind me asking i can't pin point your accent?

Balloch is beautiful indeed. But would recommend travelling by train😄 It's probably because I grew up bilingually (English/German) and only moved from Germany to Glasgow 2 years ago. But my family is from the East Neuk😊

I lived in Balloch across the road to the bus station which is known as "The Haldnen" and went to St.Kessog's school. Balloch park is beautiful when it's spring or summer and in the warmer nonths. See more people too! Nice to see Balloch on here after`40 odd years of not beeing there.

Yes, Balloch Park was quiet that day and it has been much busier in the Summer months. 😊

Is Balloch worth visiting? Absolutely 🙌🥴it takes about an hour and a half from where I live and that involves 2/3 changes depending on the route I take😂

Nice video but very dark. If manual exposure adjustment is possible on your video equipment, that would have helped.

Tell the tourists about Alexandria and Renton. 5 mins walk only, down the road, you get mugged by junkies!!

That's true. I'm from Airdrie and travelled by train to balloch last year! Never again. Place swarming with police at train station checking for anti social druggies! I will never go back and I live in Airdrie.

@@terrifictraveltales I've heard quite a lot about troublesome teenagers and junkies. Can you please advice on how to stay safe? Anything that I need to know? I'm going to Balloch on 20th December
@6mojo Жыл бұрын
Prices are wayyyy too much compared to here in Spain…the only thing to do is NOT go back to any place you feel overcharged
@terrifictraveltales Жыл бұрын
Oh yes - that's why we don't go out that often. I can imagine it's much cheaper in Spain! ☺️

@@terrifictraveltales Yes I have obviously NO regrets coming here nearly 7 years ago and of course being a Spanish resident I get free health care and even had my hip replaced 5 years ago…had my other done in Canada..again for free 7 years ago before I left..plus of course the weather…MUCH better winters than I had in Canada….I can survive easily on 800 euros per month includes 400 for rent,bills,120 groceries +50 for electric ,plus eating out…ok it’s at KFC or BK..and I’m a 5 minute walk to the beach here in Torrevieja…
