Fallon is a multitalented guy. He is really absorbed into this song, a feature that is very rare nowadays. Many can shout and mimic singing with their soul in it, but just a handful really sing from their soul. Jimmy is one.

Chris Pickrell Best of Carson ? Fallon ? LOL. Jimmy does comedy for the masses, like ''fast food'', the intellectual element is not present, element that one could only appreciate in George Carlin, Bill Hicks, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor.
@camicawber10 жыл бұрын
Eric Masters What's Fallon supposed to do about those four people all being dead before he got a late-night show? Carson did plenty of "comedy for the masses," too. He wasn't looking to create something esoteric that would only appeal to a small audience. He wanted people to watch. That's why comics wanted so badly to succeed on his show - Johnny was exposure the masses, and approval from him very often meant success with those masses. Fallon's job is to entertain, and it seems that he's trying his best to do that. And I don't see how what he's doing is any less "intellectual" than Carson doing Art Fern or Floyd R. Turbo or Carnac the Magnificent or Stump the Band or bringing on somebody from the San Diego to have a monkey pee on his head.
@ericmasters968010 жыл бұрын
whydorset You didn't contradict anything that I wrote, but you wrongly assumed something I didn't write. You write ''less intellectual than Carson'', but I make reference (the intellectual element) only to Carlin, Hicks, Bruce and Pryor, and did let out Carson on purpose, only witting ''Best of Carson?'' (that's the only remark I did about Carson). Please, read again and correctly interpret what I wrote and then criticize if you want.
@camicawber10 жыл бұрын
Eric Masters I read again, and it's a perfectly valid interpretation to read that you were directly measuring Fallon against Carson. You did leave Carson off the list of intellectuals, but by mentioning him in the first place, you set up a clear comparison between the two. You've got Fallon as "fast food," immediately after laughing off the suggestion that Fallon might be in Carson's class. This implies (strongly) that you have Carson in with the intellectuals you mentioned. If that's not what you intended, go back and edit to clarify. But that's what's there.
