That was one of the funniest moments on Letterman. Love the guy and he's hilarious, but the sheer "what" that I uttered at my TV was followed by one of the single biggest laughs I had. I'd be lying if I said tears weren't streaking down my face and that rarely happens. Cheers to Dave, Eddie, and the band. So wonderful.

It's crazy how many careers in entertainment in general he's helped. Comics, bands, actors....I know Norm Macdonald LOVED Dave and felt he owed him everything. Came on to do the last comedy set for Daves last episode even (and you know it meant a lot to Norm as his voice broke twice when he almost started crying and had to stop to compose himself and was in tears by the time Dave came over to hug him, which is probably the only time I've ever seen Norm break "character"). It's worth watching and very sweet, also sad being that Norms gone now.

It's a little different than awards shows and would be a nice thing to do. But ultimately it's pretty meaningless too. Nobody has ever said "That band was awesome"..."Well yeah, but they aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" as if it's somehow a judge of talent or how much fans love them. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that whoever profits the most from the rock and roll hall of fame is NOT a musician. Idea by the show author and composer. A pure ironic critic to their ignorance of their success creator, who wished once to receive a letter with a guitar, but never did. playing violin projected on Letterman's son (similar age of the composer years ago) was a metaphor for playing First Violin as author anyway.
@zzzroxyzzz6 жыл бұрын
I was 8 when ten came out. My older brother had it, I'd sit outside his room listening to it while he was listening to it, I wasn't allowed to listen to it but I didn't care it was amazing. Jeremy was the first rock song I wanted to hear over and over and over again, that, heart shaped box by nirvana, no rain by blind melon, last dance with Mary Jane by Tom petty and the heartbreakers, I was barely ten, but those were the songs that got me through a lot of bullying and made me want to sing and play piano. Music is magical.

14:43 geddy lee and Alex lifeson. It makes me so happy to know that all of these rock legends come together and support each other. Rush and Pearl Jam are easily some of my favorite bands. This almost brings a tear to my eye.

YES, I love David! I love Pearl Jam but jeez when he mentioned Warren Zevon. David Letterman is my hero!

Five years later, and they still haven't listened. Warren still hasn't been recognized. I'll be excited again when he and Dick Dale are put in. Cheers to Dave, and hope the wish comes true soon.

"IT WAS LIKE A CHINOOK COMING OUT OF THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST!!!!" Dave---you rocked it w/that comment alone my brother!! I worked w/the Chinook a couple times while on Trail Crew for the Olympic National Park and those 90+mph rotar washes are not for the faint of heart. ;) Priceless flashbacks of working w/them at Lake Ozette indeed. My hats off to both you, David Letterman and Pearl Jam--we couldn't find a better man!! :)
