We appreciated things more back then. Hearing a song on the radio but missing the name could result in a multi year quest to hear that song again. Clearing difficult sections of a video game were so much more rewarding when you had to figure it out yourself. We had to wait a whole week for the next episode of TV shows like the Xfiles or South Park which were then excitedly discussed the next day at work or school.

There’s no musical based tone in Vedder’s tormented vocal performance as he gradually transcends his lost soul into Sheol where he’ll be introduced to his fallen companions all awaiting Judgment Day. Letterman admitted he himself is going to hell.

Turned into? I think you need to understand hollywood has always been democratic. The difference being a democrat in the 90's was a lot different that what one is today. All the great comedians that used to be on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn like Patrice O Neal, Greg Giraldo etc. were democrats over 20 years ago when the show aired too but today they would probably be middle ground or alt casual right based on what they joke on and how they would mock the left today. There is no middle ground anymore. Just you extreme right and extreme left people in the USA that have 0 common sense to see down the middle. It's more about being extreme today and not the band or the wrestling promotion of the 90's.
