I have this very same version of Baltany's 1926 homage and it's absolutely gorgeous. I'd normally go for a mechanical version but I just fell in love with that dial. The build quality and Japanese movement give you peace of mind and for the money I don't think there's anything else of this style that can touch it. Definitely won't be my last Baltany.

Of the two I would pick this one Michael. Always like Roman numerals and it's good to see they manage to get the correct watch and clock version on number IIII ! Both reviews are top notch mate, well done.

Hi, I bought this watch a few weeks ago. Absolutely love it. I wanted the Baltic mr01 look for a fraction of the price, so I put a shiny navy blue leather strap to complement the polished case. Very pleased with it.

Your comment made me think of ordering a custom satin navy 22/18mm taper with cutout notch a'la AE1200 to give it more shoulder, but then the Militado ML01 is out, same movement

The attention to detail in making this a vintage looking watch is remarkable. I'll be looking into your review of the automatic version next, thanks.
@Bristol1 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the review! That's a nice looking watch and I'm happy it's in a more vintage appropriate size. I agree the back should be brushed, it looks quit easy to scratch. Ok, off to your other channel for the other version. Cheers!

Very nice! Definitely a good vintage inspired watch.

Glad you got a Baltany in. I don’t have one, but they seem to have the vintage military style Homage Watches market cornered. I think you might be the first one to show a Macro shot of one of their watches, and I’m impressed. Thanks. Off to watch the other review.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks for this feedback. It’s my first time working with Baltany and I must say for the price they offer these at I struggle to critique them. It’s literally just the caseback issue being easily scratched. Thanks for watching , both videos !

Here I am ... My brushed silver face version snuggles-up nicely on a Vero 'Bund' strap that protects the back from scratches - or maybe just stops you from seeing them! - I reckon this 'RELAXed' 1926 vintage series from Baltany is a winner for us all Mike.

I might try it on a bund thanks

Thanks for sharing the watch with us. Followed your link to Ali Express and the salmon dial with the blue hands is a looker.

When you first said that the other version was an automatic, I was expecting you to say that this was a manual wind. 😂 Silly me. Somehow quartz doesn't seem to fit the character of the rest of the watch, but I suppose some will prefer it, so well done Baltany for providing the option.

This is a really lovely looking watch. If they could do this dial and handset with the automatic movement in the one on your other channel, it would be fantastic.

In theory you could buy the seagull movement and retro fit it

Very nice watch Mike. Thanks for reviewing. Interesting that the quartz movement has no jewels? My old Seiko quartz from 1984 has 5 jewels.

Yes, there are still jewelled quartz movements but clearly its all about price.

A very well-done and candid review, thank you! The twenty seconds off per month for a quartz watch seems a bit under par compared with other Seiko quartzes et al. I’ve owned, but still a lovely timepiece.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
Thanks. The 20 second a month is just what is stated in the data for the module. The reality I would expect to be a lot more precise. Pleased you enjoyed my review.

Wow, that dial is totally different from the automatic version. I think I like the auto version better. I find Roman numerals difficult to read at a glance.

Love the throwback styling cues. The tick of the second hand is a bit strange when you're expecting a sweep. For the price though, it's perfect for someone looking to try the vintage aesthetic, but without the fear of handling a mechanical movement.

Love the look and size of this watch. Nice review. Did you also say they are making this in an automatic now too? If so, I would definitely be interested in a review.

Thanks for a great video, I am inclined to buy this one, but one concern kind of holds me back. And that is, how can I open the back case? It seems like this screwback case has no indented part to use a tool to open it. So, my question to you. How did you open it? Is it easy to open it?
@mywatchreviews4 ай бұрын
I use a “sticky ball” just google watch caseback sticky ball. Equally you can get Chinese clones of Rolex case tools which is the same as the caseback on this watch .

Great looking watch, as you say I would be too frightened to wear an original. I have just bought a San Martin dress watch for similar money, that had mineral crystal but made up for it with a five jewel Swiss made Ronda movement.
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
Nice. It’s why I also like my steeldive Willard. After having the original in my house for months while working on it the reality is it’s now a collector piece and prices will spiral upwards. You can buy the same look for a 10th of the price and not worry about what you bash it into
@anthonycaryl1079 Жыл бұрын
Nice, i prefer the dials on the mechanicals though
@mywatchreviews Жыл бұрын
That’s fair enough. I love both but the black and gold probably just edge it for me. I’ve even seen one version on their site with a destressed metal case look to it. Seems Baltany have gone all out with this style!

My 6,6 inch wrist loves smaller sizes. In fact I can't wear anything that has a lug to lug size above 45mm.

Really like the styling, dial colour and blued hands. Don't like the quartz tic on the second hand, would rather it was a manual wind movement. Off to see the automatic review to see if the seconds are better.

DON'T buy a baltany watch. My baltany watch completely failed after wearing it 4 times. I contacted baltany requesting their address so I could ship it to them to be repaired / replaced, it has a 2 year warranty. They refused to provide their shipping address and said to have it serviced locally, despite the movement completely failing. Unbelievable, they are NOT a legitimate company. Their ‘warranty’ is fake. RUN from this scam.
@MyRetroWatches Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience and I will not argue in their support but I don’t think they are a scam. What you will find is returning anything to China is very difficult. The movement will not be theirs by the way but an off the shelf from whichever manufacturer movement they are using in your watch. Some a Seiko some are miyota both Japanese and some are sea gull. I would be polite and persistent with your case with them rather than just bad mouthing on reviews like this which are not gaining many views anyway.I am fortunate in that I am able to repair watches so would fix my own issues., I actually carry out all uk warranty work for Vario .
