Not that calm, especially on a bridge where lives can be lost Who knows if shouting would of or could of made a difference, but being so calm doesn't help when its something really serious and people need to move to safely asap. U wouldn't or may be not take it too serious if so calm .

Calm is exactly what you want these people to be as it is the best state to be in to make rational decisions

"The whole bridge just fell down" Bridges are designed to take their own weight plus load traversing across them, that's why certain bridges have vehicular weight limits. Bridges are not designed to tolerate several hundreds of thousands or millions of tonnes of water displacement colliding with them... My sympathies to the families who've lost their loved ones.

I agree very strange. Thing is because there are so many people involved in making these ships function (I guess) it might only take 1-2 people to sabotage it. Someone subtly steers the ship a bit and curs off the power and dissapears. Quite difficult to determine blame maybe

That’s because it’s not designed to receive lateral loads beyond what would be expected during storms. This boat places thousands of tonnes of lateral stress on tiny triangulated sections of course they failed it’s obvious.

The ship lost power twice in the minutes leading up to the collision, I highly doubt it was human error, but the owners of the cargo ship will probably be responsible if there were issues with the vessel that they failed to address. Either way, I'd hate to be their insurance provider right now...

Hang on. It lost it’s steering yet it’s on the right course just before the black out. Then it veers right as the power comes back on, did the starboard engine fail just at the right time to push it on course with the bridge support? Absolutely wild.

When you go over it. You can feel the bounce in the middle When you pass over. from the weight, especially if There is a semi driving next to you. It's crazy cause driving over it yesterday. Imagine turning slightly all the power dies so you are stuck on that course for 60 seconds, then straighten then have dead controls for another 60 seconds bc another one has failed. unfortunately until proven otherwise I'm assuming something happened that meant complete failure like a fire

@@h-dawg6462 you try stopping at least 20 tonnes in 4 minutes, they could have turned everything off and the momentum would have kept going and you cant just drop an anchor without the risk it will brake or pull part of the boat off. I assume the steering failed as the ship was trying to pass under the bridge, so unfortunately this might be the best outcome possible as well.
