"The whole bridge just fell down" Bridges are designed to take their own weight plus load traversing across them, that's why certain bridges have vehicular weight limits. Bridges are not designed to tolerate several hundreds of thousands or millions of tonnes of water displacement colliding with them... My sympathies to the families who've lost their loved ones.

I agree very strange. Thing is because there are so many people involved in making these ships function (I guess) it might only take 1-2 people to sabotage it. Someone subtly steers the ship a bit and curs off the power and dissapears. Quite difficult to determine blame maybe

That’s because it’s not designed to receive lateral loads beyond what would be expected during storms. This boat places thousands of tonnes of lateral stress on tiny triangulated sections of course they failed it’s obvious.

The ship lost power twice in the minutes leading up to the collision, I highly doubt it was human error, but the owners of the cargo ship will probably be responsible if there were issues with the vessel that they failed to address.
