Balto the pet Arctic Fox

Balto is a almost 5 month old arctic fox who, in this video, is playing with my beagle Scout. Special appearances are made by Athena the weimaraner and Mia the min pin. i got him at the Lolli Bros. Not really, unless you buy a Russian Domesticated fox; which has been selectively bred to remove the 'wild genes'. $4000-$6000 is normal price range for Russian foxes. and in the US, i've found breeders in Indiana that sell foxes for $425-$675 depending on the breed. Arctic foxes are $625 from that breeder. the Red Foxes are $425.

Balto is absolutely beautiful! If I may ask, what state do you live in? I only ask that because I know a lot of the states have laws where one must either have a permit or they do not allow animals such as wolves, foxes, or other exotic canines such as those within them.

@TheZombahs I'll take the liberty of answering - arctic foxes usually cost around $500-800, are only smelly and unclean if left unneutered, and usually an exotic pet permit of some kind (it differs greatly from state to state - some don't even require a permit while some don't allow ownership at all).

i can tell you like animals its ok because guess what so do i where i live we cant have arctic foxes we can have regular foxes and wolves and tigers and stuff but i think its because where i live it gets to hot in the summer and sometimes in the winter too :)

@TheLililitu Neuter or spay will reduce the smell of their waste slightly. Proper diet will help body smell. Raw meats and such are better than processed dog foods and such. Removing glands is dangerous and pointless. Litter training will make clean up easier but they will still mark (neutering and spaying will somewhat reduce it). If you have an Arctic, you can train it to go outside like a dog as they do not litter train easily. Fennecs will just go all over. Don't have carpet.

How does his personality differ from dogs? Also do you think having other pets around helped him act more fully domesticated? You would think that he would follow the other dogs as an example and would act more like a house pet than one brought up by itself. You're the one with experience though, not me.
