once baby bass become about half an inch long they follow a school of minnows and pretend to be one, they slowly pick off minnows, when they're at 1/2 a inch they usually target one minnow and over the course of a day or two the baby bass rips the fins on the minnow and then starts biting it, usually sticking the minnows whole tail in his mouth, he does this a few times, usually ripping of the whole tail or more, then kills and eats what's left of the minnow, he does this until he is about a inch long, then he starts just swallowing small minnows whole, he does this until he is about 3 inches long, then he leaves the school and stalks other schools of minnows and picks them off, he does this until he is about 5 inches and then he goes in open waters and hunts anything that he can fit in his mouth and grows to adult size. i remember when i was a very young kid i scooped up a ton of minnows and kept them in a little 20 gallon tank, they started disappearing and there was ones with rips in their fins and some missing their tails, i observed the remaining minnows closely and found 5 of them with really big mouths, i then realized they were baby bass, it would be awesome if you went out a while after the bass spawning season and caught a ton of minnows and put them in a tank, i'm sure you would get a few baby bass with them and then you could watch how they live the first few months of their lives.

Hey Bama bass, I have had fish tanks for years and just watched a video on how to net fish. With those agrees I've fish or any fish really u put the net stationary kinda angled against the tank and make ur hand the "threat" and coral the fish into the net. It's a tone easier. I just watched a video about it on the aquarium coop KZbin channel

You should treat the whole 55 gallon aquarium for the anchor worm. They lay eggs and will present themselves again in up to 14 days. There a lot of different treatments to use but definitely treat the entire 55 gallon tank.
@shawnpallo67917 жыл бұрын
Have you ever considered running a pipeline for the minnows. It would provide a way to release the minnows secretly and provide a better feeding experience. Love the videos !!! Mobys a boss. Would love to be shouted out!!

Try seeing if moby will try to eat some small lures like tiny crankbaits,curly tail grubs and little topWaters.

I was catching some minnows for bait with a net one time, I wound up catching a pickerel ( Jack fish ) about 2 inches long. I put him in my aquarium ( talk about vicious ) That was a bad dude. He ate just about everything in the tank. He was a jumper and wound up jumping out of the tank one day while I was at work. If you ever get a chance to catch one of those for your tank he would put on quite a show for you. He looked like a mini barracuda.

I would like to see a different type of feeding... They are accustomed to the net and know when food is coming. Can you place the minnows into something that can be opened after they are submerged, and then release the minnows underwater when the fish are unaware ? It would be cool to see their reaction to food just seeming to appear rather than watching it being dropped into the tank... subscribed. 🤓

Aren't you suppose to treat your fish for parasites before putting them in your community tanks so they don't infect the other fish?
@avemflamma7 жыл бұрын
Usually quarantine (isolating the new fish in its own tank for 1-3 weeks) is used when adding fish to a community tank, but I'm assuming they didn't do this to minimize the stress on the fish since they come directly from the wild and likely can't handle that much acclimation
@l_rude_3237 жыл бұрын
True
@randomguy939846 жыл бұрын
avemflamma actually the opposite. Fish from the wild are very tough and can acclimate to almost any water.
