Place the cinderboxks with the openings available for any of the fish to swim inside. This gives all the fish hiding places from the Heron.

Just a suggestion for cosmetic purposes: Paint the cinderblocks a dark color or get some nice rocks on which to place the inverted aquarium. You can also get some solid rectangular cinder blocks that would look a lot better in your beautiful pond. Nice work!!

Flair's is trash because it sits in the sun with no shade, it is very shallow, less powerful waterfall to put in oxygen and he never puts in proper water treatment chemicals.

Nice job on the tree recovery! I was a steady Wood Turner for 12 years, and all the people I knew anyway, particularly in our Wood Turning Club, always looked to LEAVE trees alone that were healthy and growing. But they knew their areas, knew where there were trees with Burls growing on them, or of an age/size to check on after heavy storms. I liked that about the people I turned with: If it was alive and healthy, good for the tree! But if it was taken down by storm, or sometimes by road crews, the wood was used for something instead of just chipped for a landfill.

That was a type of snapping turtle but not a common one they don't have that kinda shell nor tail. I have messed with many when i was a kid. But still definitely a snapper of some kind just more docile than most it seems.

Paperbark Birch, beech, papershell pecan, persimmon, various breeds of apple or pear, Hawthorne, blueberry, weeping willows, honeyberry and fruiting mulberry trees would attract wildlife and birdlife to that new pond. If I had the room, I'd be putting beaver in my streams...of course, the ponds would be deeper that way. Lots.

I’m no tree expert but I think it was still alive, just due to the size, bigger trees are very resilient. But I don’t think it would last super long with its roots out of the ground.
