@@GregWittstockThePondGuy There's no doubt, your step by step method is the easiest way to make sure a DIYer like me gets everything right. It leaves tons of room to customize to fit someone's own vision, and lots of leeway for needed adjustments like the one that's probably the biggest hurdle for a solo builder - getting and placing bigger rocks. I learned the hard way that all rocks are different - and granite is heavy! Using the biggest rocks you can makes it look so much better, but it's the single hardest part of a DIY build. In the end it's all worth it though, and the Aquascape videos are a godsend for us home builders. Serpa's is a great example and shows what it's really like for a one man crew, great job!

You're so lucky you live in a naturally lush and green place! 😭😭 I live in the bone dry deserts of southern Utah. Of course, the desert has its own beauty, but I've always wanted a more lush yard that doesn't require me to use excessive amounts of water, especially with the droughts we get here.

You know a green house can be very beautiful and lush like in many botanical gardens. It doesn't have to be plastic. The green house will prevent evaporation and protect a pond. Utilize aquaponics to reduce water use and have beautiful and or edible plants cleaning the water for your fish that fertilize the water for your plants!
