4:11 Brown Watersnake, Nerodia taxispilota 7:00 Pretty sure it is a very wet juvenile Red-Shouldered Hawk 16:02 Toads of the genus Bufo (which your American and Southern Toads are) release bufotoxin from those large warty glands behind the eyes. It can potentially be fatal if a bass were to eat a couple of them, but it is such a great deterrent (as you can see!) that they hardly ever eat even a single one! Interestingly, the tadpoles also are unpalatable to bass, but species like Bluegills and Crappie seem to preferentially seek out toad tadpoles over many species of frog tadpoles. 21:28 I have mentioned this to you in several videos, do not know if it is getting to you, but you can see that there is growth on those willow branches. Willows are notorious for growing from cuttings, and you have mentioned how you do not want rooted plants to break the clay barrier of your pond, so you might want to check those. Hopefully this is just new stuff you have added more recently.

First off, I absolutely love your channel, and have followed it since the very beginning! My Mom passed away a couple weeks ago, and my Pops moved in with me…He started my love of fishing and he also loves your channel now! So together we came up with some names! The male and two female Tilapia in Cedar Oaks should be called Jack Tripper, Janet Wood, and Chrissy Snow from Three’s Company…your new snake should be called Kenny Stabler…and if you haven’t named the bald eagles yet, dad suggested Brenda(mom) and Art, him, so somewhere he could always fly with her! Thanks for the your channel as he looks forward to every new episode! Tight lines sir! 🎣

man this makes me miss my childhood home. we had 5 acres with a 1 acre pond we built on it when I was in middle school. So many good times. Nothin like having your own private swimming and fishing hole! by the time I moved out it had full on trees growing around it, made some awesome rope swing spots. Looking back I was truly blessed. Folks sold it last year, I'll miss it for sure. Hope the new family living there now loves it as much as I did.

As an electronics guy I geek out when I watch this show. If I was retired and had time to dedicate to a project like this of my own it would never be a job. It's a passion and a hobby All 3 ponds are excellent. I love the progress. This farm will never be dated because everything's real time monitoring so you know when to address the issue before it's a major problem. It's just so cool to me. Your electronics/electrician is very talented. I couldn't build that. I could explain what I want but my wiring skills with relay logic aren't so good anymore. Incredible build.

They are intelligent affectionate , gentle creatures . My Flora gives me kisses every time i pet her. If you don't want them in your squirrel house just put citrus or mint in there as they don't like the smell . Believe me they have enough predators around already and they are just trying to survive .

To me it looks like a cottonmouth. I really couldn't get that good of a look it does kind of look like a water moccasin! Are they poisonous! Yes, cottonmouth bites can be deadly to humans, but they are rare and severe injuries are extremely rare. In the US, fewer than one in 37,500 people are bitten by venomous snakes each year, and only one in 50 million people will die from snakebite. In the past 40 years, only three people have died from cottonmouth bites in the US. they eat fish frogs toads birds. Everything you have their it's a perfect feeding ground I mean at the end of the day you're going to get them but to be honest I know you have children I believe you had a young upcoming family there Perry to me I find you very fascinating in a pretty cool character at that I would personally and I hate to say it identify it and make sure it is what I think it is and if it isn't poisonous but don't take the chance especially with your children
@Chase360D6 ай бұрын
To me it looks like a cottonmouth I cannot really tell the colors because I'm so blind but it's not a laughing matter especially if you have the kids around them don't take the chance it's a water moccasin that's what I believe it is they are poisonous and they can kill a human especially a child if bitten and they are a very temperamental snake and they love to best in the Sun so they could be all around but it's good because you keep the areas mowed around the pond that will deter snakes but at the same time it's not a boundary neither it's a part of nature dislike it is a part of nature for a father to want to protect your child

We use a blue dye in ours but curious your thoughts if you’ve ever looked into it.. In our pond we use blue bayou, it’s safe for fish and humans. Tractor supply carries it and it truly helps algae blooms for us..also have 6 sterile grass carp but they’re super skittish and take off when they see a human but they take care of the cottonwood or algae we’ve had in the past.
@danl.9096 ай бұрын
Amen to the sterile grass carp. Automatic lawnmowers that never stop working but can't breed. Be careful, though: it wouldn't take many of them for a 5-acre pond. Start with just a couple.
