The 3-1, #13 Alabama Crimson Tide traveled to Athens, GA to face the 4-0, #8 Georgia Bulldogs. Following a surprise home loss to the Ole Miss Rebels, there were many prognosticators alleging that the Alabama dynasty was dead. Thus, Georgia was favored to win this game, ending Alabama's streak of 72 consecutive games as the favored team.
