Why was Ohio st 7-0 and Bama 12-0? Why did bama play 5 more games? Im confused.

Most powerful Alabama team I have ever seen. Ole Miss came within 15 points but scored with no time left.

Not to complain but I think we have a curse😂 since every time we go undefeated in the regular season except 2020 we end up losing in the playoffs again not complaining just pointing it out roll tide!!

Smith has to be in the conversation for greatest college wr of all time. Game winner here as a freshman. Won the Heisman. Won another natty where he went absolutely insane and dominated the game. He might be my goat. - Texas fan

Shaun Alexander sets all time Alabama one game rushing record then gets zero carries the next week in upset loss against Mississippi State - love Stallings but that was total Stallings-ball.

Wade "Wide" Richey kicking for LSU - awful and yet kicked in the NFL because of a strong leg for a couple years...for some reason. Also - takes Alabama and Woody McCorvey a whole quarter to figure out they should throw three step drops and throw on first down when you're getting sacked every other drop back. But then an explosion.

This Alabama defense in '96 shoulda sued the offense and placekicking game for lack of support.

Sam Cunningham played in this game as well. 17 carries for 70 yards. That's pretty good but he wasn't as dominating as he was the year before. The 'Bama players who played in both games (1970 & 1971) have said that they could tell in Cunningham's eyes that he could see that they (Alabama) had improved their defense from the year before. In other words, they hit him a few times and put things on his mind. The year before (1970) Cunningham he ran as though there was no opposition at all.....which there wasn't. That changed in 1971.

They should have put another team in the playoffs instead of Ohio State. The Buckeyes were definitely not prepared. They missed too many games the start of the season too.

Just think of how high the score may have been if Devonta Smith had played the whole game. But idk, 52 is a lot for a Championship game and I doubt Saban would have kept running up the score anyway. They pretty much doubled the amount of points Ohio State scored.
