This may be my favorite video of yours. It's not often we get gems like a double hookup, dolphins talking to you, and more jacks than you can shake a stick at, all on a half-hour video. Nicely done.

They literally watch your vids every evening after hubby gets home from working for County in Bay Minette. Anyway, he was at Weeks Bay yesterday & saw you & your mom loading the boat up after you came in. He was so excited that he sent all of us a pic of y'all at the boat launch. LOL. He's not a social butterfly like me so he'd never come up & introduce himself, so don't worry. LOL.

Cool video, thanks for sharing. My son and I booked a charter out of that boat launch a couple years ago on our Orange Beach vacation. After we filled the cooler with sheepshead on the bridge pier, our captain took us out in the gulf for a shoulder busting catch and release snapper session. In 200' off Corpus we have wicked currents...I tend to go with 20lb braid, 18' 40lb mono TS and 300g jig for SPJ otherwise you just can't stay vertical. The light braid plays just as heavy role as the over-weighted jig to keep drift/scope down because larger dia line catches the current like a kite.
@BamaSaltwater
@BamaSaltwater Жыл бұрын
We do here a lot in the 200 to 250 range! Definitely like the thinner braid for that application, like you said, way less bow in it. Crazy what you can pull up on that lighter line!
@motleypixel
@motleypixel Жыл бұрын
@@BamaSaltwater curious what braid-to-mono/fluro you prefer? I use the FG, hand-tied, where after 23 wraps I lock it with two half-hitches, then use tape-wrapped large dowel pull handles to set it for 10 seconds, then I clip the mono tag-end first as close as I can get it, then I build up about 10 half hitches with the braid tag-end, then snip it. This in hopes to build up a bit of braid bult ahead of that blunt fluro end. But when I join 20lb braid to say 40lb fluro top-shot it's such a drastic dia difference that sometimes, depending on the type and size of the top rod guide it will hang still and get caught at the tip when reeling up. It's frustrating, just curious if you have that issue?
