Love your channel, Steve. Grew up fishing the gulf down in Ft. Myers. I’m out in Wyoming but we’re heading back south next year and trying to decide where. You sure make a great case for L.A. My brother lives across the bay in Pace. We’ll be visiting that area in a few months. No boat but I might try and wet a line on your State Pier. Keep up the great work. I appreciate your videos and really appreciate you thanking the Lord for the day and the blessings He gives us! I appreciate your respect for your mom and taking her with you! I also appreciate your service to our nation while in the Army. I'm an old mud hole sailor (Marine) with 17 years of honorable service with no combat experience. I came close to entering the Gulf war but it ended two hours before I was suppose to go. I guess somebody must have spilled the beans that I was on my way! 🤣 I have the utmost respect for combat vets regardless of what branch of service. God bless you and be safe!

Exciting video Stephen. 20-25 years ago I was in Cedar Key Fl. after reds and trout. I was casting live shrimp trying for reds when I hooked a 30 lb. black drum. At that time it was the biggest fish I had ever caught. Especially fun on the Shimano 4000 reel I was using. Thanks for the quality content you consistently put out.

great stuff as usual...thank you!....but, why does the red drum get better props than the black drum? In my opinion, for inshore fish (drum, stripers, etc.) the larger the fish, the spongier the meat. I've caught huge black drum from the surf and boat, but released....the 8- 10 lb'ers, though ...delish! fine, thick white fillets, very versatile for prepping. I've eaten red drum...once, fried (which really, what fish fried isn't good??? lol )but never caught one myself due to mitigating circumstances (had 2 trips cancelled in New Orleans). Are their flesh so different??
