Been watching your channel for a while. I'd hung up my rods for over 20 years after getting skunked numerous times bc of a lack of knowledge. Happy to report, I broke out the old kit & I used some of your rigs and tips on a recent trip: We averaged 1 fish per every 15 minutes!! My boys were thrilled, and caught the fishing "bug," really appreciate you and your channel for helping me get back out there and share a great sport with my boys. Hat tip from Texas!

Old Florida dude here. I fished A LOT growing up and currently don't have access to salt water fishing at this point, so I fish vicariously through your videos. You fish in very similar ways to the way I liked to fish back in the day, though we only had mono and wire leader, no braid. So I'm working up to going fishing again one of these days and learning the new gear and how to be a much better fisherman than I used to be. All the best to you and yours and thank you for the videos - I'm always waiting for the next one!

I've been watching you for a while now and I get excited every time I see that there is a new video. My question today is, I have noticed throughout your videos as you transition to new gear and set ups. What do you do with all the other set ups? I am not really new to fishing but I have a cart full of the gear on amazon that I just can't afford. What do you recommend that would be a bit more affordable on a single household income of an LEO? I don't want gear that will only last one season, but I am also on a really tight budget. I do also want to thank you for your service and also for your acknowledgement of the good Lord up above in all your videos.

Many years ago I was in PCola at my dad's cousins house, and they lived a couple of blocks away from the bay. I was bored so I found a poll and walked the 2 blocks. When I got there a man was leaving and told me he didn't get a bite the whole time he was here. He noticed I didn't have any bait, so he gave me when he had left. I put a shrimp on and casted out as far as I could. The biggest fish I had ever seen jumped out of the water and took the bait. I set the hook so hard it pulled it halfway to the shore, I'm reeling and reeling to get the slack up and get it in. It was an 8lb spec. I went straight back to the house, and everyone was amazed. Needless to say, we ate fish that night and had enough to have it for breakfast for me. I would say that's when I get hooked on fishing, but at the time I was about 10 years old going fishing without bait. 😁

I used to know a pelican that was sort of an informal 'pet' of a charter boat at the Boca Hotel. He was pretty tame and the captain could hold him like a football and it would make noises like it liked it. 'Charlie. nipped me on the back of the leg once when I got between him and the fish cleaning table.
