they broke up after the lawsuit over the song barbie girl, the lawsuit was from matel they dint like the sexual refrences in the song. So now she sings solo I guess aqua bacame unpopular after the suit, aww well I like them I wish they would hav continued.

@araparap Yes, that was very relevant to my point. Whether or not there is a male rapper makes a big difference to the sexual innuendos in the lurics and if other bands should be allowed to make music in "Aqua's" genre.

@AllVets Aqua are not a bubble gum, in an interview lene and rene even stated they were not bubble gum but eurodance! !?!?! the rules of eurodance is that there is a female singer and a male rapper...hence bands like E-rotic, Aqua, Toybox, Mr president, Captain jack, Crispy are not bubblegum bands they are all Eurodance!...bands like Smile DK, Bambee, Ni-ni, Creamy...they are bubble gum bands!!

@AllVets bubblegum or even eurodance isnt Aqua's "genre" and aqua didnt invent it or even create it...yes they made it mainstream but eurodance started way back with 2 unlimited, look at whigfield back in 1995 with "saturday night" with her bubble gum style of music, that was befor bubble gum was even labled as such at the end of the day all styles of music are borrowed from one another just mixed differently or used different instuments...
