This semi-final version is even better than the performance in the final. Here you can feel that "first time" energy, throwing everything into it to qualify. The acting of the performance here is another level up. There are small details that elevate it, such as a few times they "yelp" during instrumental sections, and this adds to it - I wonder if they are doing this spontaneously, without even realising, because these yelps aren't there in the same places in the final. Also when the two of them are chasing each other around the stage before the ending scream section, the way they are running backwards and the camera edits with it, it works here in a way that it doesn't in the final - the vibe captured from that movement/moment here really adds to the creepiness, and the impact of the ending scream when it arrives. Overall, this semi-final version is the killer. I wish I could watch it for the first time, again...... unbelievable. This should change the entire contest forever.

I notice new details every time I watch it. Here are my interpretations: 0:29 At first, Witch wants the Beast so much that "revives" him. But it's the idea of him. 0:42 It's a fantasy, he is not actually there as we can learn from the lyrics. 0:58 Returns to the real world from the dream. Angle looks like waking up from sleep, getting up from bed. Also the Witch is MAD realizing it's a dream. 1:05 Actually casts the spell this time. 1:12 Right after casting it, we see the Beast affected by the spell. 1:21 The ritual part. The witch has him caged. 1:34 Fantasy starts again, but this time the Beast is in control, and drops the Witch on the floor. Because reality does not match the fantasy at all. They're not good together. 1:57 Witch wants to leave, reaching for us, towards the camera. Is it that it’s unsettling? That’s kind of the point, it’s trying to make you feel that way and it’s evidently done a perfect job regardless of whether you actually like it or not
